I would LOVE to have one of these, but I probably can't afford it having just graduated from college.... I'll just have to stick with the Coupe when I get the money.

I've got a damn good portfolio, so hopefully I'll snag a job soon. I may have to move out to Cali or Vancouver though... but I'm game. I'll go where the money is.

I think they're cool cars for sure, but no way. More horsepower doesn't equal faster car.

In what? Comfort? Sound of door closing? Legroom?

I don't really feel like looking up the specs, but I just don't think thats accurate.

But I'm still down with the Genesis.

I concur. Korea's attempt to to replicate what the other makers have been doing well for years.

You are entitled to your opinion but my rebuttal is that most cars are in one way shape or from based off of others. So that is kind of unfair since this is the case, there are no truly original cars coming out, if there are I must not be thinking of them...

I think hyundai is actually one of the most refreshing auto makers right now with their genesis sedan and coupe.

To me the korean auto makers are doing what the japanese makers did 20 years ago, they wanted to make/sell good efficient cars at a good price. And are doing a great job at it.

I think honda/toyota/nissan lost sight of that and have became premium brands in themselves. And that's not even mentioning they're luxury counterparts: acura, lexus, infinity....

Surely you jest? Lexus more than the others you mentioned is crystal clear where its going and what it is doing from small cars to big cars, to hybrids to higher peformance while keeping the luxury.

The Genesis is superb but they aspire to be where Lexus is. My 450h is faster, just as luxurious, quieter with more power and slightly more features.

I'll start respecting Hyundai/Kia whenever they produce those reliable cars of which you speak, instead of making a car with flashing led lights around the speakers. Also, Infinity, really, with Nissan in your title, I would think that you could spell that correctly.
I'll get banned for ragging on that car company one of these days, but they rag on me every time I have to drive one, so it's only fair.

Vanilla is the best selling flavor. Your Mustang is best selling/everything in its class

Hyundai wasn't original but at least gave us RWD with a V-6 option, leather dash option and other goodies. The styling doesn't stand out but its not ugly.

The V-8 Hyundai Genesis makes more power than any Acura, Saab, Infiniti, Volvo, Lincoln,

Yeah, I believe that the WRX is running in the high 4 second range on 0-60, the STI being even faster, I don't think this Genesis can compete. If you're going to make the claim that it could smoke stock Evo's and STI's, I'm going to need to see some better numbers.

The genesis sedan might not smoke those cars but it would def be a close race either way.

09 sti's have about 300hp/tq and weigh about 3400lb. Genesis sedan make 375hp and almost 340ft/lbs tq, and hits full tq at 3500 rpms, and weighs 4000

So the genesis sedan would probably be a little slower, but still pretty quick! With intake/exhaust on could probably get up to 400hp...

No it can't get out of the hole like an Evo or an Sti, but it can out trap one. The original statement was correct in all out straight line speed for the 4.6 V8.

Who knows, I've always tended to not follow the crowd and go off on a tangent so it's no wonder my outspoken opinions go criticized here. It's ok, none of these ppl know me or affect me in my daily life.

I will mod my genesis to look very similiar to that white one...I can't wait!!!

you really got something against acura don't you? you mention it in roughly 97% of your posts. jesus.

i like the genesis a lot, but as stated before, it isn't really meant to compete with the cars you listed, being that they are all sports cars first, luxury second and the genesis is more of an all-around car.
    Who knows?

That's my point, it is a luxury car 1st and it competes with sports car in the same price range...I think that's badass

I still think you're going to be sorely disappointed with this mindset. It's a luxury car that is no slouch. It doesn't mean it competes with sports cars. Unless of course your only concern is straight-line top end speed, and you're looking to mod.

Nah when I get my g someday it will strictly be my dd. That's not to say I might add some wheels, exhaust and other randoms things and such...though

I just like the idea that it can still haul ass and handle/brake well for being a FULL size sedan with the luxurities it offers...I would not buy this car to race...
