Do you think anybody on IA has enough money to have a car like that?

On a side note, one of my friends got to drive one (over 200 miles), and he didn't like it. Said he floored it from dead stop and the clutch burned up.

If it was a true manual then he can't drive, if it was the paddle shifted version is an automatic. I was instructing in a V8 Vantage and Supercar Sensations last weekend and I was impressed with it. I could turn fairly close times between it and the Gallardo. I was still faster in the E92 M3 though. The Aston was one of the best sounding cars for stock, it was between that and the C63 AMG for best stock exhaust note. On that course I was turning faster times in the Aston than many were in the GTR. The paddle shifting did have a delay, even worse than the Lambo's, but when it did shift if shifted HARD and with the traction control off would spin a fair bit going into second. It was a boat but it was very nimble and balanced, tail would slide in a smooth elegant fashion, I guess their slogan does have some meaning.

Yup, I got to pimp around a '06 V12 Vanquish for a little. I was not at all impressed with their version of the F1 transmission. Every time it shifted it felt like i was being kicked in the ass, even at slow speeds. There was no flooring it from a stop unless you enjoy the smell of melted clutch.

The car was beautiful though, sounded amazing and made me feel all tingly in my pants while I driving it though. I guess my point is that, it makes a great Boulevard cruiser, but it has no place on anyones track.

I have not had an opportunity to drive the Vantage though, but the reviews on it are much nicer than the Vanquish. I'm trying to convince my friend purchase a prancing horse next though...
