Default 1950 Chevy Pickup - Look and Click Link to Vote

This is My Friends 1950 Chevy Pickup Truck that he built from the Ground up, it started as a bare body from a junkyard and 3 years later it became what you see below, let me also let yall know he did all this throughout high school , there is a local contest here in South Carolina for the Best Classic Car and I need yalls votes for the ratings to help him get the $2000 prize so if you could click the following link and rate it that would be awesome. (My Friend Took the Pics)

Well Not everyone has the same tastes... Ok Cool you dont like the seats or the wheels whooptie do, so instant fail for the truck??? NO!!!! He didnt build the truck to "Restore it back to Factory" or make it look how it came off the showroom floor, if he wanted to do that he would have. The seats happened to be sitting around his shop because they were a gift so he said ah what the hell and threw them in. Him being in high school limited having a large sum of money to put towards the truck, he spent the money else where on other parts so he wasnt exactly worried about the seats, especially since he had a free set. He was going for more of the "HotRod" look, not so much the Factory Look.

Its Ok though... He'll be alright with or with out his "Gay Wheels" and "Ricey Seats"

pleaese dont get us wrong. the truck is clean as my balls! but the wheels and seats just dont match the theme of the truck. the wheels belong on a car and so do the seats. in that scene you dont have to restore vehicle back to factory spec. but at least use parts that can relate to the era.
i hope you can understand that logic.

i wouldnt put Z06 wheels on a 56 Bel Air. they just dont rhyme right ya know?

just like im pretty sure you wouldn't put 70 spoke triple gold daytons on your hatch.

id actually go super cheap with the wheels...

id get some regular OEM wheels. paint them yellow. get some smoothie hub caps. and cop some white walls.

with the sale of these current wheels all that freshness can be attained EASY.

I actually can appreciate both of your comments... Thats more of what I was looking for from everyone... Usually when a person critiques a car on here they just say hey I dont like this and give a reason, and most of the time the original poster doesn't get offended when someone takes the approach of... "Car is nice but I dont Like the ________ "The reason I got so adjitated is because everyone was like "RICEY" and "I should shoot him".... I can take a negative comment as well as the next guy... I just thought everyone went really overboard with the comments...

I do agree with what you said about the wheel selection and the seats... I agree that neither go with the era of the truck and that there are better selections for the truck but hes not worried about the truck enough now to go back and change it, hes got alot of other things hes working on now as far as racing goes, so racing is what keeps him busy, he only drives the truck once in a blue moon, its definately not his focus.

All I'm going to say you (or the owner) need to be prepared for not every person in the world liking your product. And you can't just go off because people don't like it.

The work appears to be clean as hail. It's just everything he did is ugly. There is a difference in quality and appearance. He seems to have done quality work, but a good appearance is very much lacking. Later, QD.

Like I mentioned in another post... I can take a negative comment just as well as the next guy and have had many given to me and have never been phazed by them...I dont give two shits actually and I Dont really give a shit in this case... its not my truck... I posted the thread for a good cause and people based their opinions whole heartedly on the seats and wheels... Clearly most people see that the truck was a quality job but would change a few things...
I can think of NUMEROUS times where people on this site posted a thread of their car and it is completely REDICULOUS (PLAIN UGLY) and people will be like "I dont like the ______ I would rather see _______" or "nice car/truck I would Just change ______".... I usually see more constructive criticism on this site rather than an all out bash on someones vehicle... I just didn't think this truck with a few minor flaws deserved a "wow he should be shot" or "ewwww Chrome and Diamond Plate" basically it just caught me off guard cause I didn't get why a 1950 Truck that a highschool kid 16 - 19 years old built that started literally as a pile of junk (just a beatup rusty shell - No FRAME just a Body) was taken for an ugly piece of shit...

Oh well I aint gonna lose sleep over it... Thanks for Looking at the Thread Anyway.
