BUT added at the new chicane? Not on the actual real course?

The new chicane in 4 was the biggest fail I have seen. We had so many offs in the AMA test day last year, then last years first AMA practice we had over 40 offs before lunch, then decided to use the old esses.

They moved the walls back away from the esses, all the fill and debri from 12 was used under the new barriers that is further from the track. I was told the esses were raised but from the photos i can't tell. The exact quote from a director while they were doing the changes was, "they were straightening the barriers and leveling the esses with the fill from 12".

Weird, I don't remember them doing that, and the dip at the bottom of the esses is still a mud pit lol. I know they moved the wall back, I figured you meant made the new chicane in the esses level, even though it's still off camber.

Negative, Don Panoz bought it in '96 and the bike is a Buell XB9R...first built in 2002. The only changes to the track until it was paved in 2007/08 was the 10a/10b chicayne to make it FIA approved ('97), the infield paddock, and the drift loop ('05). Then after it was repaved the walls were moved at Turn 12 and 4 in 2008.

Another view of the bike as it sits in turn 4 looking down the esses towards 5:

Yeah! I knew that was Chris I didn't know what you were driving though. Did you enjoy it? I'll be back out with NASA next time I hope, I haven't been on track with them in a while.

tons of fun, felt bad for holding up the high hp cars between the straights but oh well...i was giving her all she had, its just the 318, 4-bangin...was enough to pull away from chris through the esses there. DE1 is tons of fun but i wish we could pass in corners, that's my only real advantage with that car is out braking the bigger cars...deff not a bit of straight line power, lol.

you gonna be driving your mazda out there??

As long as you had fun who cares how fast the car is.

I actually got rid of the Miata. It was a blast out there. I got a Porsche 914 but sold that now have an E30 I am throwing together as a track rat.

i could care less about going fast....being quick on the other hand, that's my goal...having fun is always good too, won't be out there when i stop having fun
