Default F*@$ bmw elipsoid headlights! *e30 ReTrO w/biXenon Content* (56k go BlInD!!)

Alrighty.... lets begin the story with ppl on the bimmer forums sayin retrofitting a biXenon setup is impossible, won't work, won't look right,....yada yada ya..always sayin "just put elipsoids..." well screw you old bastards and and thank god i'm azn......

well we start off with a set of fx 35 bixenon projectors..

screw the sealed beam halogen bung hole glass thingys... went out purchased some gangsta "spot lights" from autozone....

me cutting the thing apart so the projector can go through...

and then the projector in the back of the headlight assembly...

then the finished product! tada....with the electronic flap functional as the brights.. I love haters...

the low beams in the car...

    high beams in the car...

    low beams outside the car...

    high beams outside the car...

    and the whole car...

and here is the video proof of the bixenon workin and what the beam looks like.

I assume that is a Hi/Lo kit since there is hardly a difference between the lo beam and hi beam.

Great job on the install, looks perfect.

Setup looks good. Looks very much like the TSX retrofit to the ellipsoids. And Dynamic, the setup you keep speaking of is an aftermarket retrofit to non-HID housings, he retrofitted an HID projector system into a non-HID system. Its a factory piece and is not the same as the aftermarket kits you sell.

no it's not a hi lo kit.... it's bixenon... the cut off line is a mechanical flap that when you hit the "brights" the flap opens to allow more light... you can tell a big difference when you're in the car...

That is a hi/lo kit. A true Bi-Xenon kit is...

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...2BSI%26otn%3D4

You have 2 full kits, but instead of having 4 bulbs, you have 1 bulb with 2 seperate bulbs on the base.

There are 4 levels of HID's...

    -1: Single Beam
    -2: HID Lo/Halogen Hi
    -3: HID Lo/HID Hi (Hi/Lo Kit)
    -4: Bi-Xenon

The problem with true Bi-Xenon kits is they are very eaisly broken because you have a bulb that is now twice in diameter and an average person installing them will break them. Plus it is a pain to mount 4 ballasts. So 99% of companies refer to the Hi/Lo kit as a Bi-Xenon because it gives you HID lo and hi.

So my point of the post is, the Hi/Lo kits give you virtually no difference between Lo and Hi. This is why I explain to all my customers about the difference because you gain really nothing besides being able to say you have a hi beam. This is shown in your photos...the difference is hardly there. So, if you really want to see a difference in the HID lo and hi beam, get a true Bi-Xenon kit and it will be much better.

ACTUALLY....that is a bixenon kit....for people who don't have bixenon projectors.... i have bixenon projectors so i can use 1 bulb and 1 ballast... that kit you linked is bixenon but it has a fault. when you hit the brights with that kit you showed...that bulb is gonna have to start up and then it will be bright. my setup the bulb is on in a projector with the cut off line flap up. that is the low beam. when i hit brights the mechanical flap opens up for the full beam of light therefore making it the brights. i dont need another bulb to start up or anything because the bulb stays on when i hit the brights....clear enough for you... i'm not sayin what you have isn't a bixenon. plus what you linked is an aftermarket hid kit. i'm using an OEM bixenon projector with an OEM mercedes hid kit....

Yes, this is what a Hi/Lo kit is. It moves to give you a higher beam, but it is the same bulb. Vehicle manufacturers and 99% of companies online refer to these as Bi-Xenon, but truth be told...they are not.

I just thought I would let you know you have a better option. Just trying to help.

ok well tommorow night i will take a video of me in the car when the low beams are on and when i hit the brights....i'll even pm you the link to the video and show you much of a difference it makes... hmmm if it really didn't make a difference then i'm pretty sure the people who designed the fx35 BiXenon projectors wouldn't have used them and massed produced them. nore 3.2tl's or tsx's, mercedes, bmw's, or lexus's, or porsche's, or ferrari's, or maseratti's, or bentley's, or bugotti's.....my point being the reason they use them is cuz it's the most efficient way to run a bixenon setup...instead buy a 4 ballast kit..

LOL, you are not getting it. It is not a matter of being more efficient. Just letting you know. Please, continue to think that is a true Bi-Xenon kit.

QUOTED FOR TRUTH! key word..."system" i don't have a bixenon "kit" but sure buddy..and when i mean effecient i mean the setup i'm using when i hit the brights it get brighter instantly. when you're using the kit that u showed with two hid bulbs....don't ppl normally only use their brights for maybe 5 to 10 seconds for quick extra light? doesn't a hid bulb take atleast 5 seconds to start up and warm up? hmm that's pointless...whatever i wanted to see i already passed..or when you're flashing your brights to signal someone to go... not to mention it's bad for an hid bulb to turn on and off in short bursts. hence factories using the bixenon projector with one bulb...

Bi-Xenon Headlights refers to HID (High Intensity Discharge) Xenon headlights that offer both low (dipped) and high (main) beam lighting from a dual headlight system (as opposed to a quad headlight system).

A bi-xenon system eliminates the need for a separate halogen high beam bulb/lens by either moving the xenon bulb within the lens or by moving a shield up or down in front of the bulb (depending on the reflector design) to allow light to escape from the lens in a different pattern.

A bi-xenon system typically features dynamic headlight leveling and on some vehicles direction adjustability.

Nowayitztommy - exactly what I have been trying to explain to this dude...and yes that's the setup im runnin on that car..they are fx35 bixenon projectors w/ the mechanical leveling flap and im using stock mercedes d2s 4500k hid kit... I had to redo the relay system for the headlights so when he hits the brights the low beam doesn't cut off....
