If you want to boost it, talk to AnthonyF. He may talk you out of it lol

But I'm happy for you, it's a lot of fun to get a car that you know fits your taste/you can do stuff with!

Here is a picture of my '05 V6, Procharger D-1SC, meth, 35 wetshot.

Don't boost. The 4.0 will always be a piece of shit engine. You will ALWAYS be slow (i wasn't cus I pissed away so much money it)

Congrats on the gift. If you need ANY work done to that car, hit me up. I can yank that engine is under 2 hours (with pulling the trans)

Just to give you some ideas on what you CAN do.

Nice dude. I got quite a few friends that are seniors at Centennial. I am about to graduate from Chattahoochee.

Let me know if you ever want to roll out to the meets.

lol. Yes, Nitrous. Heres what you need:

    1. GOOD intake
    2. Nitrous kit of your picking. I think ZEX has a great kit for the S197
    3. SCT XCal II Tuner

    then later on:

    4. Long tube headers/exhaust setup
    5. 3.55 GT rear eng (direct bolt up)

Id reccommend Zex as well since their control box is all one unit and you dont have to mess around with seperate solenoids for fuel and n2o. I ran a Zex wet kit on my last car for almost two years, and about 60 bottles with no issues whatsoever, however I had the car tuned for it at BatlGround. ( Id reccommend them anyday). Nitrous on an auto is really fun considering you do not need a window switch since you can concentrate on switching the juice on and off manually. Kit/ Bottle heater/ Blow down tube/ and a switch is all you need

One piece of advise, id highly recommend a tranny cooler if you plan on running N2O on the automatic.

^Everything you said was good except the Batlground part for tuning. Not that they arent good, just Modular Power House specializes in SCT tuning and Mustangs.

The ZEX would be the best bet though. It'd be sneaky.

I dont reccommend people Ive never been to as that would be joining a bandwagon, but I have heard good things about them.

Ant you cant say the 4.0 is a piece of shit engine tho, im not saying this just because of the fact that i have one but there are numberous guys on other sites that simply bolt on a powerhouse turbo kit, up the boost to 11 lbs and are running low 12's. SAFELY. i mean if you want a race car you should have bought a GT but to say they will always be slow isnt true. i would boost it before i would shoot juice. the only 4.0's that have blown up are from running boost and juice. there hasnt been one that has blown up from just boost. now im sure if u slapped the PH turbo kit on with 16# of boost then yeah eventually something would go but there are alot of people running 13# and running consistant high 11's.

    Let me rephrase that:

The 4.0L engine is a piece of shit.

Shit, I didn't change a word. It is ONLY good for a N/A DD setup. It is NOT to be raced. If it WAS there would be parts on the shelves for these engines. All my pistons were custom made b/c no1 makes shit for the 4.0L b/c....well..WHY? lolol

    Nitrous > S/C
    Turbo > S/C

If you don't have the cash and you want a lil extra pep:

    nitrous > all

I dont remember some of the names of the intakes for s197's. They are all pretty much the same. Get a used one and put a good filter on it.

The ZEX kits are around 600 I believe. the tuners are like 400. Buy the ZEX kit new, and the tuner used to save some cash.

The Tunable inductions intake had the largest gains over them all with a tune( thats the one i had on my car N/A) but there are alot
    AEM(piece of shit)
    KandN(piece of shit)
    MRT
    JLT
    MMR
    BBk( piece of shit)

by the time your done with a good nitrous set up on the car it will be right around 1k. you can put a 75 shot on these cars and not have to mess with the tune but if i were you id put a 100 and get a good dyno tune. fuck modular powerhouse, they know there shit but you will be paying out the ass. Bamachips tuned my car, hes amazing with automatic transmissions. he creats the base tunes for xcharger and actually does the transmission tunes for Powerhouse, and a few other tuning companies. hes right over in trussville alabama.

definatly get a SCT programmer tho, it wakes the car up like crazy and it allows you to adjust shift pressures, axle ratio's, timing( to a certain point), and a bunch of other shit.

feel free to pm me if you have questions about stuff for that car, ant knows alot too.
