x23987423... it's not that hard to take decent pics with any old digital camera, but these are terrible. "jdm angles" are not where it's at. just show these amongst friends lol. no need to post them.

For a lot of the shots, you could try getting the whole car in the picture

the biggest problem IMO is the angles you used and the backgrounds. good shots are all in the eye of the shooter, but the backgrounds are really bland, and the shots from the ground are kinda overused. idk. i don't mean to belittle you or anything, but those pics are just not very interesting. it's hard to teach someone to have a good eye, so you'll have to look at pictures and see the elements you like and try and emulate them at first and then start to put your own style on them.

Some of your shots are okay... some look like you used a disposable camera that doesn't have a decent view finder... chopping off the edges of cars is like chopping off someones head or feet in a photo... there is a right way to do it and there is a wrong way to do it which leaves the photo being awkward. You have to decide what the focal point is. What are you trying to show off in your pic? What is the center of attention?

2nd pic where your car is set over to the left side and a tiny bit of the bumper is cut off= bad... you have a lot of empty space left over on the right side of your pic and leaves it awkward... had the car been placed on the right side and space left in front of the car it would be less awkward as it is leaving a place for the car to go (i don't know if any of this makes since, i was kinda born a photographer so i don't think about it i just do it)
3rd pic= decent job... I don't like the black car in the background, kind of clutters up the shot. I try to find clearer shots, but sometimes its not possible
4th pic is sorta getting there as far as the overall shot i guess... but the car is way up in the top left corer of the frame... you also have to watch out for things like signs in the background that give your car a hat... looks weird
The pics where both bumpers are cut off= very bad framing...

I'm not gonna go through all of the pics... i think you may get some of the idea?

why does your driver door always show up a different color?

If you're talking about the teal hatch, its because it is a different color. He did a power window conversion and they came off another civic but its a tad lighter.

WTF are you talking about? my comment about how some of the shots look like you took the pics from a disposable camera with a bad viewfinder?

fact: view finders on disposable cameras are far inferior to that of an SLR... that was my point... it's all about your focal point... some of yours are just slightly off... which may very well be because you hadn't taken the suggestions that you now have in to consideration before... they have nothing to do with your camera... unless in fact you do have a bad viewfinder, but I am guessing that is not the case. The actual imagery itself is fine, it's not distorted or out of focus or pixelated or whatever... i have no problem with your camera... I just think you need some help with your technique... It's mostly about the shot anyways... not the cam... I don't even have a good cam

I've done my share of between the sheetmetal of a door work... I know it's not a walk in the park... hell I may have even just done a door swap myself... doesn't mean that isn't laziness... I spent 2 hours trying to figure out a way to change the alternator in my beetle cause I didn't want to have to go through all the trouble of dropping the engine to do so (It's a royal pain in the arse with digifant on a beetle)... but it didn't work out so well for me and I had to do it the right way anyway and now i have been 3 mos without my beetle cause i decided to go the right way about everything on it

Whatever makes you happy dude... I just have this thing about paint not matching... so I was curious... most people probably don't even notice it... but it's your car not mine!

BTW... first window regulator I replaced in my 74 beetle resulted in shattered glass everywhere... it sucked... but luckily I had a friend with spare glass available on a saturday evening otherwise i'd have been screwed!

I don't have a window crank on my passenger door in my fasty and someone tried to roll it down with pliers I happened to have in the car and i about freaked out cause they were stripping out the window crank mount which would mean I would have to go in the door panel [again] to replace the regulator... it's not fun... I know... I get your point

thanks for the input people we will use the info next time and the reason the background is the way it is , is because the hose on the hatch sprung a leak so we where sorta stranded there and tried to make the bast of a bad situation! i for one suck at pic taking and the input helped out on understanding what to do next time!
