    Default New to IA- My 87 FC3S n/a RX7

So I've been on other forums for a while and have browsed this one a bit, and I finally decided to register. I've got 3 FC's, with only one running, my 87 with an amazing +260,000 original miles. Maybe it looks decent enough for someone on here to remember . So far in the 4 years I've owned the car, I've done this...

-Did a full black interior conversion
-Put on S5 taillights, and started the S5 exterior conversion (rear bumper and side moldings left)
-Swapped the stock phonedials with some aluminum 15's that I wish I could afford to upgrade. They were $75 at a junkyard and already had tires...
    -Apex'i N1 Catback, Pacesetter header
-RB Springs with KYB GR2 Shocks
    -Aluminum Turbo 2 Hood
    -S4 Sport Spoiler
-A new headunit, speakers, and some decent subs to jam to
    -Black Leather 'Vert seats
-Removed back seats and installed stock cargo bins
    -S5 Stock Fog Lights
    -S5 Alternator
    -Power Windows
    -Keyless Entry
-Put in a different transmission with less miles and no noise
-Replaced the rear end, and soon to replace it again with an LSD one

And there's more. My CarDomain has everything: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2546702

And pics from when I first got it <rice?>:

    And NOW!:

That's smokey Hopefully someone likes it.

146 bhp, and 0-60 in 8.1 stock 261K miles ago It's alright, but nothing much to brag about. The exhaust might have made it a bit closer to stock... I dont know.

Thank God you got rid of the red interior. I can not stand any color interior besides black. Blue and Brown are alright in older honda's though. I give it a thumbs up.

Hey Brett, car is looking good as usual. I remember back when it looked like it does in the first pics. You'll learn that a lot of people on here don't read, hints all the interrior comments.

I noticed Yeah I kept switching back and forth from the before and after, and I'm satisfied... How'd the promotion go yesterday? And when are you gonna paint your damn bumper?

I actually have all the 5-lug stuff, but I'd rather rock those 4-lug 15x7's I've got now than the 5-lug 15x6 stock GTU wheels. And I'm going to use my set of 5-lug 16x7.5 300ZX wheels for autocross wheels... So whenever I find a nice 17" 5-lug set I'll go from there.

I dyed the floormats yesterday. I REALLY need a better drivers side one...

Promotion is great, Mo money! And I'm probably never going to paint the bumper, it simply doesn't look bad enough. That silver (really blue but looks silver) bumper actually doesn't look so out of place to a non-rotor head, a lot of people think it's stock and that the car just has a diff color bumper stock like the older MG Midgets.

Heck, even I didn't know it was wrong when I bought the car. I thought it looked odd,but I just thought that certain year first gens didn't have body colored bumpers, or that it was an option.

I bought a whole new interior I debated the vinyl dye and what not, but with the cheap price I got that interior, I'd atleast spend half that in dyes and shit. So I just bought it and swapped it in in pretty much a day. Good learning experience

Thanks. I played with the car a little today, and every interior piece that I could't get in black that was spray painted needs re-doing. The sail panels are chipping along with the plastic screw covers. I think I'll try that paint meant for interiors next time I do them instread of plain old duplicolor.

Someone linked to a thread over from the rx7 club and I remembered my thread, so why not an update?

    I've...
    -Swapped the hubs to 5-lug
-Replaced the front bearings and brake lines
    -Added 4-pot front brakes
-Put on my 17x7.5 R1 GTR 5R wheels (Volk GTC knockoffs) with used 235/45/17 Continental Pro Contact Tires till I can afford some new ones
-Finally swapped the S5 rear bumper on
-Bought black door seals to finish off the black conversion
-Got a set of defroster vents that aren't cracked to hell
-Took off the lip to repaint it the right way and fix a crack, for now
-Sold the N1 and put on a custom catback with 2.5" pipe and MazdaSpeed cans (still need to fix the leak...lol)
-Added a bigger turbo front sway bar

And oh yeah, bought a non-running $350 FB, too.

And with less than $100, turned it into:

And of course it runs.... I deliver in it all the time

I'm trying to trade that for another running FC too, BTW. If anyone's interested...

Haha.... I pulled off of the street into our yard to take pictures, didn't notice a HUGE drop in the ground, dropped the front passenger tire in it, and ripped the lip off and cracked it. But the paint was chipping to hell since the primer wasn't sticking to the fiberglass too, so I needed to work in it anyways. And now I've got the bigger wheel/tire deal so the car isn't as low, so no more scrapes. I've already chipped most of the primer/ paint off, just waiting to figure out how to fix the cracks since I know jack about patching fiberglass...

And I noticed your thing says wankeless- what did you used to have?

Get rid of the FC and get another FC. That one (despite the color) looks 100% better than the FC. Later, QD.

Had a 88 NA FC. Just purchased an 87 T2. So I will be wanklefull....

I read that like 4 times and still don't understand it... You mean get rid of the FB? If so, I'm actually trying to...

Keep delivering pizza's in the FB and eventually trade it for another FC.

Swap blocks, add an LSD, and remove all emissions in the FC and get it ready for paint whenever I've got the funds.

Waiting for this in the mail for the FC:
