    Default Project ED8

    well, ive begun a new project! I aquired this CRX through a trade with J-Rock (good guy ).. when i met up with him, he said he had started de-ricing it from his previous owner, just ran out of time and space, so i got it now!!


    When i got the car, it was rocking some 13's in the back and 14's in the front!! steelies FTW!! i also picked it up and it had no interior in it, and no doors on it!! but he included them, lol..

    the car has about 874 coats of spray paint on it, then a coat of primer, (not the best paint job, but who cares..

    interior pieces were previously painted super blue but has been sprayed black over that!! they will all either be replaced or re-done..

    car had no motor..

    only interior installed when i got it was the dashboard, so when i got it home, i took it out.. underneath the dashboard i found fun goodies!! .. first was a ton of random wires just kind of ziptied up.. the werent wired to anything, just kinda chillin behind the dash, lol.. next, i found all the ignition wires were spliced and twisted together .. so naturally, i re-did all those connections!!

    the suspension started making things even better !! well, the rear springs are stock civic springs CUT with about 2 coils left, so it's SLAMMED in the back, but stock height in the front.. the driver side strut was bent somehow... .. and also i have to replace my outer tie rods!! but, on the plus side, somebody had upgraded the front brakes to integra brackes !!




    i guess now that we have the beginnings of my crx, its time for plans, right? well, it isnt going to be anything woah crazy intense, spinning tires at 80, or w/e.. motor is gonna be a stock LS, MAYBE some simple bolt ons.. Car (jams and all) will be painted Sonoma Red Pearl Clearcoat, with some suprises i cant let out yet, but will update when the time is right! suspension work... of course it will have some .. im sure itll be slammed, camber kits everywhere, maybe some bars here and there!! full interior.. i have a set of fat fives ill be rockin for the time being!!

    so now that i have rambled forever, onto the PICS!!!




    no, its not an SI, it actually an HF... but somebody bought the OEM badge for it, lol..




    i got all the brake lines, booster, plugs, and all that good stuff pulled so i cant paint the bizzay!!




    inside with no interior and all the engine bay wiring!!




    rust for the freakin win


    all my interior!!


    pulling off all the suspension!! (mainly to upgrade or replace everything!)


    new connections on the ignition wires.. somebody had twisted them together and figured it would suffice.. (they even forgot the black tape that goes around it)



    fat fives with some ballin paint!!


    same wheel, different lighting.. (they change colors its pretty cool!!)






    i will update this thread as the project goes.. right now i dont have too much done.. it might be a slow project as well (full time student/ full time employee).. but, DEFINITELY open to any suggestions, critisms, complaints, w/e! just throw them at me! my feelings wont be hurt!!     looks like one hell of a project.... those rims are pretty ballin like you say... my suggestion is go ls vtec, lol... nothing like vtec crackin

    None of us are. I owned this car at one time. I got it from Jason, then sold it back to him. I'd like to see it finished. The body was actually in really good shape. Didnt know about the wiring though. Looks like you're doing some good work on it.

    yeah, im not too worried about it.. things keep popping up wrong, but what do you expect when you buy a shell, right?? .. but yeah, the body is straight indeed, just needs a TON of sanding... it looks like nothing was sanding or prepped for paint at all, and like i said, there is a lot of paint, lol!!

    I remember the day Jason got this car. On the way back from Atlanta, we saw some Mexican get side swiped by a neon or something. Shit was pretty funny. Bent his z3 fender in and it popped back out right after. Oh and the guy he bought it from is a member on here and fucking lied to my friend about the motor being rebuilt and it was trash. So, a big fuck you to that waste of a sperm queer.


    Anyways, goodluck on this car, man. Hope you get it done. And keep this thread updated, not another one update wonder..

    I'm a straight up kinda guy and that preppy fuck just completely lied to my friend about it being a rebuilt motor, no miles yet, etc..     haha, yeah, i definitely did not put that much time into them.. (fatfives=10 minutes for one..... rs6= 2.5 hours for one, lol..)

    so i did some more work on it tonight... went to take more pics and my camera wont work!! FTL, so ill borrow somebody's tomorrow or something.. i pulled more suspension off and got a very quick first coat of primer in the engine bay.. also snapped a half inch drive craftsman in half tonight!!!

    Been their, done that. Then hit /and busted a nuckle. Lets just say, Sears didn't give me any shit about replacing it.

    haha, yeah, ive broken a few of them, but never snapped in half.. usually its just the gearing and stuff..

    so this is one of my favorite little "upgrades" or whatever you wanna call it, that i have done to all my hondas... first thing is take all the suspension out of the fender well to get, this...




    next, since its so nasty, you get this..



    and one of these...



    then...




    and scrub the crap out of it.. since mine was RIDICULOUSLY nasty, i did it twice, then ended it with some greased lightning... after it dried, i got this..





    then i noticed rust spots




    so i sanded all of them out.. next, i put my paint in and went from

    its nothing big, but can add a lot to the looks of your wheels depending on what you have

    and here is the engine bay ive been working on.. first, threw a QUICK primer on everything to kinda "see what i had to work with".. it helped me see what needs more sanding than others, etc...





    then i started sanding.. didnt get much before it got too late, so i couldnt use air tools anymore...

    just picked up the motore for the ED8!! .. b18a1.. got it for a fair price.. first thing is replacing gaskets/ timing belt/ etc... (ordered EVERYTHING today [which means it wont even go through until monday ]) anyways, here are some pics of the motor.. everything looks great with it, and the spark plugs looked good when i pulled them..

    also got most of my interior now!!


    dash needs some work, lol. but the carpet i got is IMMACULATE!!



    SI front seats.. this is the only damage to the set..



    SI door panels..



    here is the custom cut floor board for the trunk.. i made it myself with a "hidden door" that can be opened.. i use it for cleaning supplies or battery reloction..



    opposite side.. in the little far corner is where a custom box goes..





    none of it is bolted in yet, and most of it needs cleaning up.. BUT, i still have it! lol.. i also have all the small pieces and what not!!
