That is over confidence I believe and the old "I am driving an M3!!!"

And there are 80% E36 at track events if it is a BMWCCA event. Not fair!

I would say the opposite. Car and Driver named the best handling car at any price the E36 M3. Maybe a bit of a stretch but the article says it won because how easy it was to drive fast and it is forgiving.

If you go out, floor it in 2nd and shift at redline mid corner well even the M3 is not going to help you there.
Over confidence is def. true but it's also the simple fact that the cars limits are SO high even in today standards and when you cross them with little experience (which you have to be moving to do) you are probably going to end up in a wall. The E30 and even E46 are just more forgiving and playful if you ask me from my experiences with them
I believe Road And Track tested a Dinan M3 with shocks/springs/wheels and it slalom'd around 72.5 MPH and managed around 1g on the skidpad. Yes it was modified but those cheap parts get you Enzo like handling numbers on paper. That's amazing!
I'd also say some good clutch worth will easily get you around a corner, shifting at red line. Not saying do it, but i've been in the situation and it's simply a case of one not knowing how to shift mid-corner that'll put you in a ditch

Wouldn't agree with that. I have plenty of friends with nice new BMW's, Honda's and what not and a lovely car payment and a lot crappier insurance plan and bank account summary then myself. If you or your insurance can't buy it outright, don't drive it.

Yea, my car cost like a seventh of the cost of my friends car and I still won't let him drive it.

I disagree. I think the e36 is very playful in the hands of a driver. The real issue I see with the e36 M3 is it likes to SNAP back if you try to man handle it. Thus in the hands of someone who doesn't know what they are doing and they swing it out the e36 wants to gain traction and it will snap back on you pretty hard.

That is the limit you are talking about. It is high but riding the limit is a bit more difficult.

nah alex was chill as hell about it actually, i was taken aback to say the least. "Mr. X" was much more torn up about it than he was.

And people stop texting me, seriously, it wasn't me.

Wheels are most likely irreplaceable. I had a talk with the insurance adjuster, and he said he is going to talk to his manager about the issue. Apparently, they are only liable to replace two wheels. MR. X will have to pay me $580 (deductible + extra charge for the tires I had) the full repair is estimated at roughly $2300.

What do you mean they claim they are only responsible for 2 wheels? Are the other 2 still round and of same condition before the accident? If not how are they not liable?

Also I doubt you find 2 of them matching...

I think the other two are fine. I am waiting on what he says when he finds out that they don't make the wheels anymore.

I will have a problem! They need to buy me a new set of four wheels for the dealer price on my wheels. Which according to REALOEM is $633.33 a piece.
