Default Everythings bigger in Texas Plus weird smells

Another story thread brought you by the BMW owners from the Southeast. This time I am off to get a new DD. 1996 328iC 5sp with hard top.

Not much editing going on as it is 1am...

Left Wednesday night to drive to Birmingham, AL to fly Southwest. Bored in the room so my driving buddy Nick and I got on bimmerforums...

Leave at 10:50am and flew to Austin.

We had a quick stop at Love Field in Dallas... We found two things. There were a LOT of very attractive females there and to answer your question... Yes, everything really is bigger in Texas.

We pick up the car, I had shipped a new head unit to the owner and I installed it real quick. Packed up the gear and headed to the carwash. Once the owner had it sold to me, over 3 weeks ago, the car sat in his driveway and you could tell... Off to use the foam brush!!!

Yes I have an M3 lip coming, yes I have a new grill coming, yes I have new fogs coming, Yes new headlights are coming, yes the front bumper needs to come off, realign and reinstall with the brake ducts... No GA does not require a front plate...

So off we start. The GPS gave some lackluster directions and we missed an on ramp, then missed another on ramp and another... We end up on some 4 lane mini highway and runs through farm land and some WEIRD small towns. It ended up decently fun and we found a Hat store...

FINALLY we made it to I-10 and started heading East... towards home. Found some shots on the road, then wanted to get a shot with the sun going down.

Now I am bedded down for the night. New Orleans with some bf.c members tomorrow. More pics and more fun?

Something we learned. Every 10-15 miles there was a different horrible stench. From a weird, stale shit smell to just random smells. It was quite horrid. We get inside Louisiana and for 5 miles we could TASTE crap... I don't know what was there but it was a horrible, thick shit smell.

I also learned I like the BMW E36

    *Fun Note*

I found over 12,000 dollars in BMW of Austin receipts starting 7 years ago when the previous owner bought the car. Hard top seals, full clutch with master/slave cylinders, brake jobs, recent clutch, cooling system overhauls, brand new tires and a host of other items. The car needs a clay, wax, polish and an interior detail really badly but the mechanicals are TIGHT! Very excited!

Fawkin' truth. Best part is the big bridge going into Louisiana...except for the expansion gaps every two seconds. Damn nearly rattled my teeth out.
