Here's the thing, the GTR is not retard-fast or a super car....and massive power not found.

It's a freaking $80,000 Nissan that makes 470 something horsepower and 430 something torque in it's heavy ass 3800 something pound body. Mid-High 11's...big freaking deal. Would I drive it if it was given to me? Sure, but there's quite a few cars I can think of I'd rather have for half the price.

"Supercar status" is defined by several parameters. To me, its the following:

Acceleration (0-60, 1/4 mile) - <3.5s and ~10s
Handling (Track, skidpad - 1g+)
Braking (100ft- from 60-0)
Exclusivity (production numbers)


The GT-R's ATTESSA system is legendary. The engine is phenomenal. the rest is just meh.

Its as fast as it is because the car is able to drive right AT its limit nearly 100% of the time which is humanly impossible to do. The car makes a video game out of real-life which is just amazing.

Its lacking in the power-to-weight ratio department. At 4000lb with driver, it's downright porky. It needs at least 600CHP to be competitive in this department.

The GT-R is just a awesome car, but no supercar. And no, I don't think the Z06 qualifies either.

A Ford GT is more along the lines of a supercar in my books. So is the Viper ACR - it freakin stomps the hell out of anything in a +-150k price range.

Just FYI, Viper ACRs are actually being sold at a DISCOUNT these days. MSRP is 99k, they're being sold for around 95. Sad... I'm pretty sure it'll go up to about 140k for a used one once production stops. If I was in the market - I'd choose the ACR over a GT-R any day of the week.
