Default Pics of the 7 with my friends again (240SX and 300ZX)12 photos

This was my first time shooting entirely in RAW and I am never going back. These aren't my best photos but I enjoyed the freedom RAW gave me and I need to hone the processing technique. Any questions about the pics or cars I'll answer them. Here they are.

The 240? No. The 300? No. The RX7? Hail yes. You should have forgotten about the other two and posted more of yours. Did you come to the OSJM this last year? If not, you better bring it to this years meets. Later, QD.

Thanks guys, I've taken that FB a long way and I love it to death. It's still getting some new goodies on Tuesday, so the improvement continues. The stance on the 240 is so good thanks in part to the Tein Flex coil overs. Iwill have more pictures of the Rx-7 up soon as I am getting some really nice additions to my photography kit.

even though you shot in RAW the white balance is still very off. look at the color of the 240 in 7/9/10. some look very orange and some look very blue.

also try to keep those minivans, 350Z's and broncos out your background. the over all location and how the white balance is off ruins the pictures.

    sorry if i was "blunt"

cars look nice though. i really like the black z32, ive wanted one of those since the 90's LOL

Well there was mixed lighting. On the left there was an orange light, on the right, a white light. If I balanced for the wight, it would make the orange very obvious, if I balanced for the orange, the white became blue. I've used the location before, and when we decided to go, it was about 20 mins away. We didn't know that they had changed the lighting, or that a pool / tennis court was going to be so crowded. The location was god awful, but we didn't stop by to take pics, we went there meaning to based off of previous experience. I do think white balance can ruin a shot, but it was hard to avoid in the horrible location.

Here is an example of what RAW got me in a a much better location 2 weeks later.

Why are you saying the white balance is off? Are you Mr. Annoyingly Obvious? Why are you telling 87 Turbo II to look at the color of the 240? Do you actually think he didn't see what he was shooting and then posting? Are your eyes superior to his? Perhaps your arrogance and ego are, which are not equal to your level of intelligence or capacity to understand the situation.

I say this mostly because you yourself claim to be a photographer.

Also, obviously the background was not ideal. It was clearly just a casual night out. But the shots were still well done, and the disclaimer at the beginning of the post wasn't even necessary, nor was his response to your comment.

You weren't blunt. You were showing your ignorance and conceitedness.

    I am being blunt.

    But anyway, awesome cars guys.

    shut the fuck up.

i was doing nothing but trying to help, its called constructive criticism. if nobody helps you get better and push yourself further at a hobby you have you will never progress. i wasnt bashing him, i was just trying to help.

good job at using big words though, made you look real smart and stuff.

I wasn't saying you were 'bashing' him. I'm sorry you missed the point. I was saying you weren't helping him. Your comment was completely useless. Did you honestly think what you were doing was constructive criticism? If so, then what I said about your arrogance still stands.

And yet you're still trying to give advice like an infomercial...

Also, I can't believe you think I was using 'big words'... and 'stuff'.

ok, let me try this again....

shooting in RAW allows you to set a custom white balance in post processing, but his white balance was still very off, so why did he not shoot in jpeg or why was he not able to get the WB right since he was shooting in RAW? it makes no sense.

as far as the background im sure he sees the minivans there but obviously he needs somebody to tell him he needs to have a cleaner background. if he was going out to just snap some pictures then minivans and other cars in the background are fine, but i know like me 87 Turbo II claims himself to be a photographer so he has no excuse, he should have picked a different location.

i pointed out the WB cause i didnt understand why it was like that when he shot in raw, and the point of raw is to keep that from happening. i pointed out the cars in the background cause it just doesnt look good, and i would assume he doesnt know that cause he still took the pictures in that location. if he knew it looked bad then why did he do it.

oh you used alot of big words there johnny boy, look at all your other posts on here and 240atl, theres not a word bigger than 5 letters but your busted into this thread with a dictionary and thesaurus in hand tossing 10+ letter words around talking shit about something you know nothing about. people critique photos here and on other forums allllll day long, it happens, get over it.

all I'm saying is, RAW or not, mixed lighting can never be white balanced correctly. But interesting little flame war going on.

i honestly wasnt trying to be a dick or start any flame wars, hell i really wish people would critique my pictures more cause having people nit pick your work really helps you get better. i guess i need to realize this forum isnt the place for that and just not post anything. i thought as it kinda as maybe if i gave you alittle C&C next time i posted something you would do the same for me but i will refrain from commenting anymore. again, im sorry if i came off like a dick or sounded "ignorant and conceited" cause i didnt mean too.

No man C & C is welcomed, and I WOULD do the same. Photography is an art you have to be harsh with when grading. Don't stop the commenting and don't let this little thing bother you.

Obviously, as he has already said, the lighting was insanely mixed. I don't know why you are having such a hard time understanding this. Also, what part of 'with my friends' and 'casual' don't you understand?

I think it is redundant to keep bringing up the fact that you still can't grasp the situation. Maybe I should get a dictionary and thesaurus to help you understand.

Let me try without one though.

In the pictures, they are at a car wash. The cars got washed. Pictures were taken. There were minivans in the same parking lot. End of story.

This wasn't a photo shoot. As a photographer, you need to take a step back and be reminded of perspective. Not everything needs to be perfectly fake looking like in the magazines. Personally, I thought the minivans added contrast that I thought brought a little hilarity to the art.

    Your assumptions are your mistake.

Including assuming a person doesn't know 'big words' because they have only used slang previously on a casual forum. And who are you to say I have no idea what I'm talking about? Your statement is laughable and it almost completely ruined your second attempt at a more useful critique.

I'm perfectly aware of the process of critiquing. I encourage it. What I was doing, in case you still don't understand, is critiquing your critique. Sorry if you can't handle it.

And I'm not talking 'shit'. You are. Your use of expletives were uncalled for, and thus, you really did try to engage in a flame war, intentionally or not. This, again, makes me wonder at your intelligence.

And if this was a flame war, I would definitely have to say that you are not a 'dick'. You are a pussy. Your last post was a complete cop out that not even you believe. You just said it because you are emotionally overwhelmed by the way the conversation is going. Don't worry, I hear that happens to all perfectionists.

I agree with 87 Turbo II all the way though. You do have to be harsh.

I don't know where to begin telling you that this is completely irrelevant and a sad attempt at saving face.

What you just said proves that you copped out of the discussion by changing the topic bitterly.

Of course it's obvious that I'm not John Pearson due to not just vocabulary, as you already pointed out, but rhetoric and syntax. And by the way, this does not invalidate anything I have said thus far. So try not to make an ass of yourself by trying to say it does. We share this account. This is the internet. Get over it.

Or are you going to cry and have a fit about this too?

Oh really? You want to talk about getting banned? Laughable.

I read the rules. Then I reread the rules. I suggest you click the link.
I can't seem to find anywhere in the rules that account sharing is grounds for banning. Perhaps you can find it for me.

What I did find though was that you are in violation of Tier 2, number five when bringing up the name John Pearson.

You are what some would call a drowning man. I think it would be wise to stop this line of conversation.

I was hoping you wouldn't be foolish enough to say that. But oh well...

That Tier 1 rule is about something that is completely opposite of what is going on. It deals with multiple user names. Multiple accounts. This is one account. There shouldn't be a problem. And if there is, then it is just plain sad that the site can't follow it's own written rules. And I'm not saying that it can't. You are. As a matter of fact, you are good at just saying stuff with no meaning and no evidence to back it up.

And I wasn't the one who brought up banning. You were. And I have no intention of reporting you. Why would I care enough?

This is the conceit I am talking about.

    Everything you say backfires.

I don't know why you don't just stop.

Yea, I'd be scared too if I were you. Making terroristic threats is a felony, whether on a thread, or in a PM. You're making a big mistake. I suggest you stop the nonsense and your self degradation before I have to post everything for everyone to see.
