No clone... just taking the parts that look good from the M3. I know it is not an M3 but I will make it better than an M3 for cheaper and save on insurance

Better than an M3 in what ways? How much you pay, because M's are very cheap these days. And insurance is really not expensive, even with the way I drive. The insurance company quoted the same price for insurance for every E36 I asked, so I got the M. I pay the same amount for insurance as I did on my 318ti autotragic.

There is no possible way you pay you pay 318ti w/ automatic rates for an M3. If that was true and they value your car as a 318is w/ automatic I hate to see what happens when you wreck it and the KBB a 1995 318i and give you that value.

The e36 M3 is a different model and most insurance agencies charge more for a 5sp as well. We are talking full coverage insurance? I am 25, have no tickets and insure 3 cars, home, insurance on my photo equipment and an additional 10,000 on top on the M3. I get massive discounts and there was a difference on a 328i vs M3 insurance rates.

Better as in handling, acceleration, stopping etc. Still going to be a vert so compared to a vert M3 It is more of a super clean and super low DD. Cruising and looking good

    m52>s52

The price I am paying is ~1/2 of what a GOOD quality 95 M3 is currently selling for. I personally would never consider owning a 95 or 96 M3 though so those are out the question. In terms of modding potential a 96-99 328 is the money shot.

I swear! $183 a month full coverage, with two at fault accidents in the 318ti, and 6 tickets, just turned 20 years old. I was 18 when I got the M3. When I sold the 318, I was debating 328 or M3, and when the insurance company said it would cost the same to insure I instantly went for the M.
Curious to see how you plan to out accelerate the M3, given the 40 hp (or more) handicap. My friend's modded 328 coupe is miles from catching me. As for preference to year, I would rather have a 95' m for the suspension geometry, lack of ASC, and ease of tuning. (plan to go turbo). Best solution is 95 M3 with 99' motor. (which I have). How much is the vert?

183 a month?!?!?!?!? Sweet Jesus. I pay 81 for full coverage on the M3 and basic coverage on the 535i. 6 tickets and 2 accidents? You need to take it easy... how do you still have license? That is insane. Need to do some track days so you get bored of driving around on the street and getting 6 tickets and 2 accidents

Suspension geometry? To my knowledge your front control arms and bushings are different. To get the same geometry from the late model you simply put on the late model control arms and centered bushings. Past that I do not know of anything different. ASC is a moot point, simply turn off the ASC or disable it

TRM will have a plug and play and flash tuned OBD2 turbo soon. Thus the stronger m52 is the answer

3.23 or 3.38 diff - M50 manifold - M3 Cams - Intake - Exhaust - Tune and we are close to equal. Barely spent anything. I will skip all that though and wait for turbo. Not going for racing, definitely not street racing so it really doesn't matter. May not ever turbo. Cruiser car

Consider on a 328i you have 300-400 pound advantage. That makes a huge difference.

$185 a month is cheap, same as the 318ti. Most companies wanted $300-400 a month. What is this WE are close to equal? 300-400 lbs. on a normal M3. My car traps the same as an e46 M3. I was much faster than the e46 vert that was at the track the same day. I have never raced an e36 M3, but I imagine a stock one would get murdered, as I should run about a full second faster in the quarter mile. I am still on stock 3.15 LSD, Intake, chip, exhaust... I suspect with cams, and diff, and tune I could break into the 12's?

185 a month is cheap? I insure a house, a couple thousand in photo gear, 10K in 'mods, and M3 and an E28. Figure at the end of the year having 1200 in your bank account. That is the main reason after getting my first, and only ticket, that driving like a maniac on the street is not worth it. Was awesome on insurance when that went away.

We as in a 328i and an M3. Close if I do those mods. Drivers race. Your car doesn't count. It has no interior and is a DD. Not a fair comparison.

I don't know what you could break into. The drag strip bores me. 1 or 2 runs down the track. Get my slip and go home. Never to return again. I don't street race as it is amazingly retarded and the drag strip is mind numbing boring. I need turns, need to use my brakes etc Come to an HPDE and you will soon find that street racing and the drag strip hold the same entertainment

There is another car similar to yours on bf.c but he went even farther. He has no dash and cut out supports and has one seat. I think he got into the 12s. Extremely stupid as he ruined a Techno Violet late model M3 but that is another discussion.

Enough of that discussion. Hopefully more mods come in the mail today

I love DTM tips and wanted them on my M3 but peer pressure caused me to not get it. Who cares? I like it and rarely see it on anything on the street. Fitment on this exhaust is very good and looks great.

Peer pressure FTL. My last set of tires might have lasted another 1,000 miles.
