Default Santa Run @ Little Talladega

There were some really nice cars out there yesterday! We had the black Corvette Coupe and the red C5 Z06 out there running. The Z06 had some issues with oil temperature and ABS locking up too soon due to tire size issues, so he was running a little bit slower than he could.

    * The Shelbys sounded sooo good! (302 in both I heard)
    * The plum miata has an LS1 in it along with good brakes and I cant remember if it had a cage.
    * The red STi had minor upgrades, tune and street tires - did very well.
    * The green/yellow Exige kicked major ass. I think it was stock. I wish I had numbers to post.

    * The orange mini got too agressive early on when it was cold and had a skirmish with a tree - it lives with minor wounds.

I talked to the Red vette's tuner - he didnt say anything about oil temps but the brakes were definitely not track quality. The owner spent money on a cam, and other stuff - but the brakes were stock...and fading fast lol.

I dont know much about C5s but C6's will burn oil if you put in the "recommended" amount of oil. At the track, you need to run less 1/2 quart less than you do with regular street driving or it'll get into the intake - and screw things up. Its pretty weird.

Yellow exige was modded but puts outs 240 stock. The green one was stock supercharged putting down 300 with a waffle house tag plate

    * The red STi had minor upgrades, tune and slicks - did very well. He ran a best of 1:05.4
    * The green/yellow Exige kicked major ass. I think it was stock. I wish I had numbers to post. The green Exige was running 1:07 - 1:09 all day long.
    * The orange mini got to agressive early on when it was cold and had a skirmish with a tree - it lives with minor wounds. Yea, it's a shame cause it looked decently quick.

Were you the one that I gave the business cards to?

On the second run the oil temp got to around 256* and he didn't notice it. On the third run, the oil temp got up to 286* so he just coasted the rest of the run. The car makes 520rwhp and I forget how much torque. It's a road race spec'd camshaft.

Yup, he did. On the first run oil was coming out the valve cover breathers so we wrapped it up with a shop rag. It was smoking pretty bad on that run.

Jason has asked that everyone email the pictures they have to him so he can put them up on the website, he doesn't have access to the forum right now.

    Email is [email protected]

He said he will post times as soon as he gets a chance, they were at the track very late last night. I think he said it looks like they pulled in over 500 toys...thats a good haul guys.

Great event! I will post my pics later. I took close to 200 shots all over the track.

    The STi = ownz....
The Black 350Z = best sound on the back straight IMO
    The Exige = stupid quick
The CLK Black = sexiest car at the track, best sound over all

Oh yeah!!! It sounded externally gated, but I didnt get to see the driver. It looked stock......doubt it though. He was ripping the back straight as well.

I hope is not that obnoxiously loud M3 that didn't go anywhere fast while drowning everything out lol.
