I wish they would post some times, that would be nice to know. I beat the garbage out of the car the second session and had A BLAST!
true, but its not that hard to turn on the timing equipment.
I wanted an instructor to ride with me today. There was a gentlemen Matt was talking to that I had asked to ride with me. He cordially declined. I wouldn't like to get into a car with a complete stranger with no RR experience. Anyhow, next time I won't be so newbish.
To stay on topic, Nice pics Ben.
Thanks man. I agree I'm looking forward to the next track day so I can improve.Quote:

i do feel bad for my bank account though, as this new addiction isnt going to help.
nice pics, fix all the dust spots though...
nice shots!
good shots bro!!! :goodjob: wish i wouldnt have had to work at the last minute!!! :(
damn ben quit showing me up with the panning skillz :(
i got a really good shot of it on the track. ill post it up in the next few days.Quote:

Nice pics. 105.4 is moving, although you should go back with a hot lap to really get an accurate time! IIRC a friend of mine was doing 1:06's in his 996 Turbo with around 500 hp and R comps compared to my 1:08's-1:09's. Hopefully my car is faster now with the changes but I haven't been back.
It's a shame no one was doing any official timing. I hear it was done randomly by stop watches...ehh not very accurate.
sure if they had the timing equipment to turn on and every body had transponders. :rolleyes:Quote:

Matt kindly gave me his spot in the event since I hadn't pre registered. In return we were going to split up the track time. I did two sessions and he did two sessions, just turned out his second sessions was the timed event. Everyone talking about hired drivers is just funny... anyone ever heard of sandbagging? We do it all the time in the Redline series, you just can't put it all out on the table till the last session. ;)
I thought it was a great event and very well organized. While the timing was less than ideal for a pro event, we have to remember that this was all for fun. And that everyone was being timed the same way so the margin for error was the same across all competitors.
Hopefully sometime in Spring we (TopSpeed) will put on a Time Attack event for the local crowd. But with less people and more track time.
Doug
^Yes.
...and for those complaining. If you lose you lose.
I'm still trying to figure out why these people give a shit. The point in the day was to go out and beat on your car and have fun.
That is why I stopped taking pictures. I need to clean it bad. :(Quote:

Don't take this as an insult, I'm only giving you my view on yesterday's event.
Good driver, good car, sounds like lots of drivers were new.
lol that would be me. I'm a noob but still had a blast.Quote:

The merc was at 1:09, I believe.Quote:

3. I probably have between 20 and 30 days on little tally.
4. I adjusted my driving style and line to suit the problems that the car had ( I altered my line to prevent the inside wheel spin that we were having because of the suspension setup and massive grip the car has)
5. Before I went out for that session Doug said..."Its a lot more fun to win"
6. I'm that good
7. The car will go 1:04.9 with the exact setup thats on there I just need more time in the car.
Hugs and Kisses
Matt
P.S. Topspeeds Racecar goes 57 seconds around that track.
Edit...My second fastest lap was good enough to win the event
I also wanted to say that everyone in the final 7 drove very well, I think everyone dropped their time over their last session. Big props to the LS1 Miata driver he didn't have much tire and its hard to put down that kind of power without some skill.
So you guys know how lucky you are its pretty rare to see that many cars at an event go sub 1:08, I don't think I've ever seen more than two or three.
:goodjob:Quote:

there was a ton of fast ass cars there, the green exige was hauling ass. im still amazed by the black series that was there. that guy drove the dick out of that car lol.
Good stuff Ben.
Someone appears to be a little cocky I see. I was only pointing out that I don't believe the times to be correct for anyone.Quote:

Email is [email protected]
He said he will post times as soon as he gets a chance, they were at the track very late last night. I think he said it looks like they pulled in over 500 toys...thats a good haul guys.

With the selection of cars that were there I doubt anyone took pictures of my hatch lolol. Even if I drove the tsx it still wouldn't have compared to the nice cars. Chad said he got a few and said he will post them up in a couple of days.Quote:
