Are you using an AFS lense? Pictures seem out of focus. What mode were you shooting in?

i know the rear of the first is out of focus because i had the focus point to the right. i used the 50mm 1.8 nikkor lens. i always use the manual mode but this time i shot them in raw format.

Yeah the RAW format is much better. That lense is supposedly pretty damn sharp, I think I will get one. If you don't mind, I messed with some of the levels and what not in two of them:

also i think photobucket does something to them when i resize them. what should i use to resize because they look alot better before i resize.

You should use FLICKR instead of photobucket. Photobucket reduces image quality. I messed with the contrast, sharpened, added a gradient, saturation, used some burn and cropped the 2nd one. I used Adobe Photoshop CS. I am new to the DSLR world as well, I have had my D70 for three weeks or so.

I will put in my 2 cents on each photo. Doing it as C&C so we can improve

1 - Step down the f stops. Get some more DOF. Back of car is out of focus

2 - Composition. Just an odd place for the car to be in the frame

3 - Just OOF but a decently composed photo
