Default My project thread... 89 Silverado. Tons of pics.

Ive been working on this truck for the last 2 years. My grandfather bought it new in 89 and put over 500,000 miles on it while he had the truck before giving it to me. The original 700R4 trans lasted just over 500,000 miles with only being serviced every 150K or so.

Now has a new trans, new mildly built 350. Will be getting all new bushings/mounts/weather stripping etc. Also will be bagged/body dropped, working on that now. Not sure what wheels nor color but Ill figured that out as I go. About to paint the cab and frame while its all stipped down.

Now for the pics. From when I got it to today.

    Day I got her.

    Few weeks later

    Some asshole backed into me!

First time it had ever been wrecked in 16 years/500K+ miles

    All better

    Trans toasted

New door and some body work

    Looking decent

    Ouch I backed into her

Umm half assed spray paint job?

    Fixing that mess

    New color? LOL

I'm confused as shit, man. Through the whole thread, you've shown pics of the truck on the left (in this pic), but now you show this truck and alluding to working on this one. I'm befuddled, dude, lolol. Later, QD.

So throughout the thread, there are two trucks? Or is it the same truck up until the last pic?

    Sorry, man, lolol. Later, QD.

Sorry. Both trucks are being used. The cab on the one on the right will probably be cut for the body drop and then put on my frame.

Well I can now send all of this to the junk yard. A tree fell across both my trucks a few days ago.

OUCH...that sucks. I remember a while ago back when I had my 71 nova, I went outside and pushed it in the middle of my backyard when it was storming real bad. Limbs and shit were falling on it and I was so afraid of a tree falling on it. So, I threw on the rain coat(Which didn't help) and got to pushing...lmao

lol damn you have had back luck with that truck, it seems every other picture was a new accident for it, then both of them struck by tree. Someone did not want you fixing it up

I think you should leave the truck alone, cause your grandpa left an omen on the truck "Thou shall not modify" and sh8t keeps happening to it .
