wow pretty crazy, man that turbo is bigger than the engine lol.
Great project, i love older gen japanese cars getting modernized.
That thing is gonna be sick. Keep us posted:goodjob:
I been following your build for a minute and all I got to say is you got skills man. I know it's gonna be a killer when it's done for sure.
it is been a PITA cuz i got some customers cars and such a litlle time to work on them that really dont let me work on my own project as fast as i want to but it is going better now, i just did buy this week a set of 272 BC cams with valve spring + titanium retaner set + the forged 20 over wiseco pistons and pauter Rods to bulletproofing the bottom end to boost all the way to 40+PSI if necessary! i am using RC 1600 injectors and no nitrous at all for trany this is getting a modified R-154 supra trany with custom slipper clutch on it (more on that later) but i am fabricating the 8.50 cert. 4130 roll cage out of 1 5/8 x .083 4130 chro mo. and there is a lot of work ahead so you guys are in for this treat ;)
best car on IA

This is different,I like it!!.
Awsome build, Im glad to see that someone understands how much of a blank canvas older cars are. We are currently working on a 7mgte in a 81 hatch corolla but are not looking for anything close that much power, and im glad to see that a JZ goes in that chassie so well, I have a 79 corona that i was thinking of the same thing. Great job and make sure to be at the next old school meet I know everyone there would really like to see that.:goodjob:

this is a pretty sick build..g/l. would love to see it @ the track
Not hating i think its a badass build with good work behind it but some of the welds look as if they weren't penetrating enough an the splatter needs to be cleaned but other than that nice build bro!
agree with you on the splater, but it need to be painted yet so i let the body shop do that, but the penetration is real good i garantee you that. ;)Quote:

I took the engine today to the machine shop to align bore the mains for the main studs, decked the block, bore + hone to 86.5mm with torque plate and decked the head. i cant wait for the (OUCH bill) but i really cant wait to get the engine back to start puting it together!
Also here is the trany i am going to use.
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3.../celica153.jpg
I am hoping this clutch setup will hold the disc is a special sintered iron unit sliper disc and the preassure plate is a clutch master unit with a lot of preassure i will install it straight up first and if it sticks too much i will shim the preassure plate to achive the amount of slipery i need to get the job done the good thing about this is i dont have to take the trany off to shim it :D
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3.../celica154.jpg
the parts i ordered from Marlin Crawler to internally bulletproofing my R154 trany these parts are custom made by Marlin Crawler to beef up the 'R' Series Tranys take a look!
this is the bearing retainer the factory one is made out of aluminum and flex on high HP levels making a gap betwine the bearing and the thrust washer making the trust washer fail and brake missaligning the gears creating failure in the trany! this one is made out of Tool Steel with grade 8 bolts :D
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ngretainer.jpg
And this is the trust washer that is made out of cast iron from factory very weak this one is made out of Chorme Moly and is billet from a solid pice!
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...rustwasher.jpg
With these parts the R154 becomes Virtually BULLET PROOF! I HOPE
I really want to see this car when you're done. Pretty cool build. Can't wait to see the pics of the motor assembly.
Thanks bro as soon as i get the engine back i will post pictures of the assembly!
:eek:Wow awesome build. You sure can weld. Reps
More More More!
i got to replace the rear shocks got no other choise plus need the rear brakes and the wishbone track locator still need to be installed, lift it a litlle from the ass side and thats it but slamed in the floor looks bitchin, just wait till i take pictures in day light.
it is amaizing how this litlle car acomodate the 26x10 in the factory rear wheel tubs!!!!

hey its dtmcnamara from toyota3tc. nice buildup. I will be in contact with you once I get my te72. god i cannot wait.
wow!! crazy custom work man!!
hell yeah sir! take it back to the 70's! the whole time looking at the build i liked what i saw but i was thinking to myself, "gawd i hope he's not using an xspower turbo" hahahaha so since you've cleared that up, i'm all for it.
the microtech'll work great, we're using an ltx12 on our gt42 3 rotor FD rx7 as well. the wiring's easy too.
that turbo's fuckin huuuuuge LOL you can make 900 on a 74mm so if u crank that puppy up to 40psi that'll be rediculous :D
much props to ya man, you made my day
q45 90mm throttle body ftw :D
