    Default My new (to me) 99 Miata...UPDATE/pics pg2

    I originally wanted to buy a new car, but I decided a car payment wasn't something I wanted right now. So I searched around for a 99+ Miata...eventually finding one right down the street from where I live for a steal.

    So far, I've replaced the torn up seats with some JDM ones from JHOT, and done a bunch of maintenance stuff to it. My plans are very minimal (it's the dedicated DD, so I can concentrate on my 89 Mirage turbo)...I'll be doing shocks/springs, a hard top, and probably some 15x7s.

    It used to be red. I bought it from a guy in MD a few years ago. It's flat black now. Last time I dyno'd it, it was 215whp. It's about to get a lot closer to 300whp. Here it is:

    And it's not really my first Mazda. I had a 04 Mazda3 for a little bit, and I bought my wife a Mazdaspeed3 back in November. But thanks for the welcome anyway!

    I took a look today, and I noticed a couple bolts (one at each far corner of the spoiler). Besides that, it's probably just doublesided tape.

    Got a hard top for it (it's blue, even though in the pics it's hard to tell). Just got done installing the side latches for the hard top, as well as removing the visors and swapping on some block-off plates. I'm tall enough that the visors just get in the way. I also put on a strut tower bar the other day.

    Lowered it with Swift springs, Tokico HP shocks, and put on some Rota Circuit 8s.

    Thanks!

    The hard top makes it pretty quiet, but I'm still getting wind noise because my seals need to be replaced. With fresh ones, it should be as quiet as a normal car.
