Unhappy Sports Car International, No More

Well I have preached and preached and preached about buying this mag. This was our version of EVO, if not better.
    http://www.sci-mag.com/index.html
The last issue was mailed this month.

Unlike the toilet paper substance and bias of pretty much every mag here, SCI was 100% about keeping it true. They even refused to test ANY SUV/SAV. This magazine was truly about the cars and pleasing the readers with the best reviews possible, not about pleasing the car makers.

The writing was top notch as the pics and features. Simply the best car mag here and only $5 with no subscription.

    Why did they go under?

The same toilet paper substance mags can be blamed. You see, SCI didn't look like a got damn "Magazine Mall" or "Mag flea market" with more pages of ads than material.:thumbdn: Ads were kept to a minimum, so there was no bias. No one got a special feature or special advertising section. The editor(s) didn't have to pull his pants around his legs and fly around the country begging for ad revenue. The only major page was the rear, where Lotus advertised for 6 years.

    Yes, Lotus advertises.

It seems the mag was in the "red" for sometime but the rest of the balance sheet was okay, so it was continued.

I am truly, very, very, very, very, very sad to see this go. I remember picking up my first mag, they had an article on the CL 55. I was hooked and subscribed right away. Pricier than the garbage mags, I think $24 or so for 8 issues but IT WAS WELL WORTH IT.

I would have paid $100 for 8 issues. This mag was THAT GOOD AND OF THAT HIGH QUALITY.

Its like losing a REALLY good group of friends, seeing SCI go.

Sports Car International, YOU WILL BE MISSED!!!!:

Hey what do you know about that? Surprise, surprise, wrong section.

Sucks when something good fails though.

I'll go buy the last one just to have it. You are right though, when i make my weekly trip to B&N i don't even give a look to American magazines.
