Is that a old Edelbrock Torker manifold? If so man you need to change that thing asap. Test shows even the old design performance rpm manifold out performs the Torker manifolds. Just a FYI, you should find some good single plane manifolds cheap for your sbc.
well the torker is mainly helps just with the torque not that much hp but i got it for free helping my neighbor out with his s10 so free and gets alittle tq & hp i think ill stay with it for now :DQuote:

Looks like its coming along...I don't mean to down your setup but I've built dozens of motors as most people on here can vouge for. The heads are killing you as well as the cubic inches. The heads would be ok if you have the 64cc as they will help build a little compression which with the pistons your running may get you 9:1. What are the specs on your camshaft? You don't want to run to much stick for the rest of your combination. Mainly b/c the heads will not flow enough, unless you upgraded the springs they won't handle a whole lot of lift and the cam will bleed off some compression. The intake is going to hurt you and no its not going to help build torque. Over a stock intake it may help a little. I probably have a edelbrock performer rpm intake laying around. If you have any ?? or want any advice feel free to ask. I can give you some pointers on what weights and stuff to run in your distributor if you would like. Here is my latest I put in my Chevelle. Its a 421sbc, Callies Crank, Carrillo Rods, Crower Custom Solid Roller Camshaft(290/302 duration, .585/.603 lift on a 108 grind) 12cc Domed JE Pistons(12:5.1 Compression) Edelbrock Victor Jr. 28 degree aluminum heads(Raised Exhaust ports and Angle Plugs with 2.08 intake and 1.72 exhaust valves) Edelbrock Performer RPM 2-4's intake port matched to heads. 2 Edelbrock 650cfm carbs, these are coming off and a single 850cfm dominator going in place in a week or so. MSD Pro Billet Distributor with a MSD 6AL Box and Blaster 2 coil, Edelbrock Victor Jr. Aluminum Water Pump. Crane Needle bearing 1.6 Roller Rockers. I have a 3000 converter with a turbo 350 and 3.55 richmond gears with a eaton unit out back.

thats alittle info on my motor i dont know the cam specs i got it from a buddy he pulled it out of his 383 SBC it did have that many miles on it. but my main plan for this motor is just get it running and drop it in my truck when i get back from school. and then build it up i really dont want to get a 350 i want to see what i can get out of a 305 first right now ive put probably the max of about $100 in this motor. i just want my truck to be alittle fun truck not a straight drag truck
Your main problem about not knowing the details of the camshaft is if it is too much duration and lift you could drop a spring. If they are able to handle it the heads may not flow well enough to be compatible with the camshaft. I'd personally get a camshaft that I knew all the specs of so you could know that you wouldn't be over camming the motor.
well ill try to find out but the motor is complete together besides the valve covers and i got to leave the 28 to go to school and wont beable to really mess with my truck or the motor until march 8 but i will contact the guy i bought the cam from and try to post up the specs before i leave
ok this is what i was told about the cam i bought "its spec are close to .460 lift with 1.5 ratio rockers and its duration should be about 215 @ .050." & "that cam was built for alot of low end torque.. and if you advance it about 4 degrees that cam should thump pretty hard"
Looks like its coming along nicely. If you need any help with this swap feel free to PM me, I've done more of these than I can remember. I also have some SBC parts you may be interested with in the for sale section on here.
I have a set of double humps if your interrested! Just PM me if so
no thanks man im not looking to spend alot on this motor, right now all i ave bought was the bearings gasket kit and a new cam and lifters. and i got that all right short of $150Quote:
