Default Chattanooga Riverpark Cruise In 8-(22-23)-08

26th Annual Greater Chattanooga Cruise In Swap Meet & Car Corral

Well this trip started mid day on Friday. I left ZEN Motors, LLC around 4:30 PM. Since I drove alone this time there aren’t any rolling shots. So I will start up at the Chilli’s off Brainerd Road. The meet up was nice. I was greeted by JayKnight and Lotus_Exige_07.

    Then everyone else showed up!

Carl’s first time reading a picture book

How big is it? Apparently this big

Hannah and Jen getting rowdy lol only after a couple beers - j/k they were perfect angels.

    The Exige is so bright!

We went to a local meet up spot after dinner. The peeps around here call it the Hobby Lobby Meet! I was assured that there is usually MANY more cars that meet up here. But due to weather conditions we were the meet.

Time to head back and catch some Z’s. JayKnight graciously opened up his casa to me! Thanks a lot to the man in bright yellow! I appreciate all the hospitality! As we got back to his house I got to meet Lexi and Nitro! They are great dogs and kept me company.

    Lexi

    Nitro

Nitro gets at least 3gs when he hits full boost!

You have to see it to believe it! Watch this!

Tomorrow morning we head off to the River Park show in Chattanooga or as the locals call it ChattaVegas!

Day 2 started at 6:30 AM Saturday morning. Jeremy and I got up and ready to go after freshening up on the web and updating ourselves with the usual forums. We rolled out at about 7:15 AM.

Jeremy was nice enough to let me park in the garage overnight! I appreciate all the hospitality again man!

    He has a crazy driveway!

Apparently T-Mobile sent J bill! He was excited lol

We then headed off to Burger King for the breakfast of champions. We met up with Pearlwhitesh and Forrest. Such a match made in heaven lol. They are both cheap dates too! $1.39 each lol

We saw this crazy CRV towing a car!!!

The three rides outside the BK Lounge

We chatted for a while about nonsense until about 8:45 AM and decided to roll over to the show. Once we got there we set up, cleaned up, and laid back!

    Under the tents.

I got a free T-Shirt for driving the furthest for this show.

    The cars from our club

Took some pics of the river

We saw an older version of Allen there!

Let’s do a quick run around

    A really happy car

There was a guy clipping the grass around his tires lol.

There was a magazine there along the lines of auto trader doing a photo shoot for the next issue. We were all tired from the heat so this is what I got from under our tent about 150 yards away.

Well the show ended around 3 PM. We were concerned when we asked the people in charge when the trophy ceremony was. Apparently this was a cruise-in, car corral, and swap meet. The flyer said car show and we all paid $20 to park here. We were told that the magnet/show plaque was the trophy for coming to the show. Apparently there was $1,400 worth of giveaways and they said that overtook the trophy costs. Lame! We sat outside for 7 hours for absolutely nothing!

We were all a bit heated but I decided I wanted to go get some food before I had to drive home all frustrated that I pretty much wasted my weekend. I did get to hang out with some of the crew so that was nice. Thanks again for all the hospitality and showing me around guys/gals.

Went over to McAllister’s for a littler late lunch/early dinner. We met up with Forrest’s wife and her sister as well. That made for some interesting and fun times lol. Laughing all around the table and the usual SSI nonsense lol.

    Our crazy server/stalker-ish dude

    \

    Sweet tea anyone lol

This is after the worst quote ever! For those that were there you know what I am talking about! “Just take it in, take it all like a champ!”

Lol best Carl impression ever! “Very Nice, How Much?”

Then we all parted ways. Jeremy already left to go let his dogs out so this was the last shot of the trip.

    Thanks again for looking guys/gals.

Seems like a great time. not trying to start anything but you were frustrated because you hung out with buddies and "donated" 20 bucks to charity and you didnt get a trophy? seems kinda childish to me. Talk like tht just makes me not enjoy the car scene now a days. seems like everyone is caught up in securing sponsors and trophies, instead of just being proud of their ride.

i'm gonna have to say no in defense for tony. He drove from atlanta to do this event which was 144 miles away. Yeah we had a good time and he didn't complain about it. He had no problem helping them out but we would have not sat there all day if we would have known.

i hear where you are coming from but you have to understand for me it is not about the trophies. the event was advertised as a Car Show with classes and awards. however when we got there it was just a Car Corral and a swap meet. i've driven to many meets far away. it was just kinda annoying when you expect something and when you get there it is another. i didn't complain and it isn't like i tried to get a refund. i knew the money was going to a good cause so it was all good in the end. i got to spend time with my north ga/tn buddies who i don't see often! so that was nice. i just don't think the three of us would have spend the whole day there if we knew it wasn't a show seeing as how all three of us are show cars. also, there was an autocross going on across the street during this event but we couldn't go because we were worried about not being judged. that is all. no complaints and i hope you can change the way you see me. it really isn't about the trophies or hardware and i am very proud of my car. it's taken me a long time to get the car to where it is today. but if you drive over 2 hours with the way gas prices are and spend two days out of your weekend expecting a car show when you could be doing something else and don't get judged like at a car show etc... it is aggravating.

wasnt judging you. just the way i read it it seemed as though you drove all that way expecting a trophy. hopefully theres no hard feelings.

    As always Tony come through.

I got to say though, and it was only funny at the moment. When Tony was getting the vid of Nirto to play back, the noise from the vid got him stirred up again. The funny part about this, was as we were watcing the playback on the LT, Nitro was in the same exact spot as he was in the video, and Lexi was also in the same exac spot, doing the same exact thing. Looked like Tony had his cam on Live Streaming Video.

Like I said, you had to be there.

And to further elaborate on the event of the day, Yes it was advertised as a show, so even though we all paid our $20 to enter, what was the point of having all the entrants fill out a registration with all the info on the car, address, phone numbers, and email, why was there no judging. TO me and many others, that was a false advertisement.

Needless to say, I am sure we will not be attending that show again. Even if it was for charity, they did not have to use trick tactics to get people to attend.

Now with that out of the way, Tony I am glad you came up, you always ad a bit of excitement to the mix. Hopefully next time, it will be a bit more eventful, and everyone will still be around.

    Later !!!
