looks pretty cool
appreciate it guys..its my 1st attempt.and just really bored.ha
and ^i just took the shots to make them into 'hdr' format or whatever..so just showing the outcomes..
A regular properly exposed photo would have been better.
I agree! HDR is a good solution when you have subject matter that because of lighting issues need different exposures. I am not a fan of the fuzzy dream like HDR. The only time I use it is to give detail to objects that would have been hidden due to a shadow from a single exposure or to compensate for a bright light source that makes the picture blown out (like a indoor shot with a window that is white because it is over exposed).Originally Posted by Nemesis
Even tho I would not have edited the pictures in the same fashion as you have, I still commend you on trying a new post process.
Not bad, are you using photomatix or photoshop to merge your different exposures?
here is one i did, not that great, shot with a nikon d40

Yeah, I know.
I dont have access to my other pics, but try taking a pic, with the exposures two stops apart from each other, take three, or more if you wish, then merge them and play with the settings, should give you what your looking for.Originally Posted by 1NonlyAccord
Yeah, I know.
im doing it;
Manual- Normal pic..then +2.0EV..thn -2.0EV..photomatix to merge them together..and ya
this one is decent, however it is not my original.
Yeah, I know.
Is there someone that could help me with understanding "HDR"?
high dynamic range photography, basically, your shooting the same photo, with a tripod hopefully, at 3 or more different exposures, then merging the photos into one hdr image. the point is to capture all the highlights and lowlights of the image in one pic.Originally Posted by integra2die4
Yeah, I know.
Thanks for that. Now I understand what the objective is. Thanks againOriginally Posted by "ridge"racer
^^^^this was done with a p&s btw, so the equipment shouldnt be the obstacle
Yeah, I know.
ya mine are completely HDR..i didnt do to much tone editing or anything.. still learning..
keep it man, practice makes perfect, im learning as well!
Yeah, I know.
in photomatix..do you do the detail enhancers..or Tone Compressor? tab. to do your editing,Originally Posted by "ridge"racer
Tone compressor, but ive been using photoshop lately to do it, its a little bit harder but i want to learn the p/s way, photomatix is just for ease of use. you really dont have to make many adjustments imo. but again, im not a pro and still learning like yourself.Originally Posted by 1NonlyAccord

when i used photoshop merge..it like makes a X in the pic..like White on one corner..black on the other and light grey on the other..then the rest is the pic merged..
edit: like this..is what it looks like after they merge..?
