    I own the show maxima, but was offered this 1998 audi a4 1.8t for it last week. I dont know about audi values, does anyone know if its worth it???

    DONT DO IT! 3 of my friends had the same type of audi and all 3 broke down lol. maybe they were just unlucky?

    not bad, just higher maint. I personally would go for the audi.

    the audi is a manual, do yall know if their trannys or motors are prone having problems???

    youll be aight drivetrain wise as long as you take care of it. But audi just like any vw's with turbo are prone to leaks.

    my dads cousin has a 99 A4 manual and he has had it for 5 years and he never needed to repair it so i say do it!

    yea thats what im going towards, plus the owner said he will throw in a t3/t4 turbokit with intercooler and blowoff valve into the trade....

    from wut i hear like 97 to 2000 or 01 or wutever a4s had a recall cuz they came with a filter screen inside the motor which is pointless unless u rip the oil pan off and somehow replace it or else gunk gets built up on the screen and creates bad sludge! this is just what i heard..... dont know if its true so if its not an S4 i would say dont even try!

    sounds accurate. My cousin has an 01 passat had the same problem. Replace oil pan easy fix.

    The 1.8T's are zero fun with the AWD, but then again they're not much better with the FWD either

    if its FWD go for it............but i drove a AWD and the engine is way to weak for the system,imo

    With that 1.8t you can chip it and get close to 40-50 HP and another 115lb of torque for around 500 bucks.

    wasn't trying to be an ******* I was just gonna express my detailed opinion of the Maxima and then decided against it. I don't like that car, but its your car and if you like it more power to you...but you asked for opinions on whether you should trade so I gave it. My cousin has one of those Audis and it's not a bad car, and I personally would prefer it over the maxima...
