care to retract that statement? That CRZ must have one hell of a hybrid sysyem to pull a front tire on the 'ring, especially considering the CRZ is front wheel drive.Originally Posted by AnTi-PooN

I have to say, i really do disapprove.
What made the NSX great is that it's chassis was one of the greatest in history, and remember, i'm the one that holds cars to another standard so i really feel that way. It was a better car than the GTR in its day and remained as such long after. Even with it's lack of power compared to the European and American competition it did well and many times could better them.
Here is an article from Automobile mag
[i]Ayrton Senna helped refine the NSX's dynamic behavior with tests at the Nrburgring a decade or so before virtually every other carmaker identified this track as the Holy Grail. The result was a sports car with brilliant performance, an endearing spirit, and totally honest reflexes. Except for an early tendency to wear out its rear tires in 10,000 miles, the Acura NSX was vice-free.[i]
I feel like the new car needs to stick to it's moral and put light weight and proper chassis and suspension development ahead anything else.
I'm not gonna say that a high revving Vtec V8 is a bad idea, (its brilliant actually) but i would much rather that engine sit behind the driver.
It almost makes me feel that Honda just stuck with the norm on this one. The GTR is front engined and so is the LF-A. I realize that they are actually mid-front setups but for a supercar like this which is supposed to be about the experience. A car wearing an NSX badge should have the engine behind the driver.
look at all the differences. The rear on the CRZ is higher, the front end is shorter. the windows are shaped different... the whole car is smaller. Besides, look at the brakes on the NSX, they are huge!!! why would a hybrid car like the CRZ need those? Why would a hybrid like the CRZ need quad exhaust?

Good point, I see the differences now. To me the rears still look very similar but in the pics you showed the front end are obviously different. Good points about the breaks too. It would be a very different body style NSX then previous generations if that is a new nsx, I didnt think they would change it that drastically. Looks good whichever car it is. I still think its the crz though, lolOriginally Posted by allmotoronly

Well heres my reasoning.
Honda released the HSC SUpercar which was supposed to be the next NSX a few years ago.

After some time it got molded into this

Then their were rumors of an upgrade to the S2000. Supposedly they were going to scrap the 4 cylinder an go with the new engine from the Accord Euro-R which was some V6 variant that made 300hp. That seemed to be all talk because in 2008 they released the S2000 CR so the next evolution of the S2000 is prob 4-5 years away.
The CRZ will be just like a CRX, a COMMUTER car aimed at a possible replacement of the FIt or Insight. Talks were 2 DEFINITE models with the CRZ having a HYBRID engine replacing the Insight, and a SOHC D18 IVTEC motor out of the new ULEV Civic that comes out in 09 or 10.
THERE WAS SLIGHT RUMORS that they may offer a limited edition CRZ with a K20 engine out of the last model Civic SI with 200hp. But none of that has been confirmed.
The NSX was in talks to have a V8 or V10 based on a F1 engine from Hondas race team. It was supposedly to have 500bhp and have a carbon fiber body with FRONT ENGINE REAR WHEEL DRIVE. They scrapped the old Midengine design long ago.
The NSX i think stopped production in 02 or 03
IMO there is no way this is a new S2000 because they are still selling the CURRENT s2000. Plus the S2000 or whatever replaces it will always be a convertible IMO. Also i dont see them putting a V10 in an S2000 because that will make it IMPOSSIBLE to bring a NSX out unless it makes 800hp which is not likely to happen this century lol.
I expect they will release the next S2000 variant in the next year, and expect it to have some 280-300hp v6, an i expect the NSX to make 400-450hp.
the ONLY car that has been on the drawing board slated for a comeback has been the NSX. Proof that they had an engine was a few months back when they had that extended S2000 with the reported new NSX ENGINE that someone posted in this thread. This is prob some variant of the soon to be released production chassis.

allmotor has a point, u dont need all that much to stop a hybrid honda that small. but a car that small with a v-10 is gonna kick some ass. whatever it is!
That is not a crz. That car is huge and looks nothing like the prototype crz.

Hell, for all we really know it could be something completely new.
Bozzio for president.
Yes, like the CRZ, but also something we don't know of yet.

theres no point for honda to make a crz, but there is alot of japanese supercars being produced.. And that car looks way too nicelyshaped to even be a "cr" anything...lol
The quad stacked exhaust is a very good point, pointed out earlier in the thread, so my guess probably goes out as the new NSX.
Ok people, for all the noobs that don't know what a test mule is.....
this is a test mule, they put random things on the car in order to keep the photographers from getting main details on what it really is.
Look at this F149.
About the car in question......Why would they bring a car that is obviously going to be a hybrid to the Nurburgring. I used to sell cars and not one person interested in a Prius asked me what kinda times it ran.
Whatever that is, it isn't FWD. Just look at the calipers on the brakes. It isn't necessary on a gas saver.
sexy as hell even with the cloaking device lol
get ready to be very disappointed.Originally Posted by AnTi-PooN

i agree, anyone that thinks this is a CRZ is retarded. This is an obvious new sports car, and like i just demonstrated, the likely candidate is the new NSX

definitly a crz
lol
I think it's too odd for a NSX, but I agree it's a sports car, just something we don't know of necessarily yet.

yeah just looks like it would be a 2009 CRX or somethin
To the rest of you noobs that think this is a CR-Z
Spy Shots: Acura NSX prototype lifts wheel at the 'Ring
Autoblog
The spy shots we showed you earlier of an Acura NSX prototype on the street were taken in Germany near the famed Nurburgring test track. Of course, any prototype driving around the 'Ring will eventually be driving on the 'Ring, and so it was today for Acura's future supercar. KGP photographers snapped the NSX prototype being driven hard around the Green Hell, so much so that the car's left-front wheel catches air at one point during hard cornering. There are many more angles and views of the next NSX in our gallery below that should allow you to see the car's form through its heavy camo paint even better.
[Source: KGP Photography]
KGP Photography:
Here are some new shots of the NSX, doing some hot laps on the 'Ring (along with another set heading back to its facility). The new shots all have their own charms, and each reveals something new, thanks to the different angles and lighting. One particularly intense track shot has the NSX raising its front wheel under hard cornering.

I'll quote myself from earlier with some common sense points.

look at the windshield in relation to the front tire. On the CRZ the windshield is almost right above the front tire, on the NSX prototype, the windshield is much farther back. The two cars have completely different roof lines, and of course, the brakes on the NSX are WAAAYYY too large to be on a FWD hybrid.

i saw something like that this morning at my parents shop.
No one mentioned the rumored Honda XGA?
