That car is crazy. This stat confuses me though. I dont understand how it runs a 10.2 @ only 129MPH. That trap seems like it should be a LOT higher for that quick of a time. And the fact that it only makes 383tq but @ 8000rpms is crazy. I'd like to see what that dyno graph looks like.

If thats accurate it further proves torque isn't everything

true, but shiit, who wants to wait 8000rpms to be able to take off from a traffic light?

I think this proves that torque isnt everything for a highstrung racecar that ONLY sees high RPMs...and barely weighs a ton...

Yea but if that car had equal torque to it hp.With is weight, it would be all over the place leaving that light

No this proves that power to weight is everything.

And 12 cylinders are usually pretty small engines (liter wise).

And its a ferrari, not a mustang. It's built for the track. And I guarantee you, if you were to drive one, you woudln't complain about the torque curve.

    No, thats right.

It comes from Alain Prost's F1 car which was a 3.5 V12, it was then developed to be a 4.0 for IMSA's 333 and later turned into the 4.7 in that car.
The "customers" for the cars had to sign a contract that they would never enter professional competition with the cars.

Last, Remember back in the 40's, Ferrari's 125s had a 1.5L V12 made by Colombo

yeah, i gotcha... 4.7 just seems small for a v12 when you think about how most v8's from other manufacturers are up around 5 liters. ferrari knows what they're doing though, so i'll shutup lol ....

TQ is actually the enemy in a lightweight car. I'm sure if you were to drive around with a cover over the tach, you wouldn't be able to tell how high you are revving...

F50 GTR, spectacular car. If you look on YouTube you will see a video of one that Doug Hayashi was following in his F355 on the track. Sweetest sounding engine ever. There are only three of these cars on the world, and it never made it on the race track. Ferrari killed the program rather quickly and sold the three. There is only one in the U.S. and two are overseas somewhere.

The FXX is a little different.

FXX is like a rental race car program where they bring them out for track days to run with other FXX cars.

The F50GT was to participate in the BPR Global series but it became the FIA GT Championship and it was quickly seen by Ferrari that the car was not going to be competitive.

Im praying that when the ACO finalizes the 2010 LMP-1 regulations, Ferrari will have a closed cockpit car ready to compete. A Ferrari V12 Petrol to go against the diesels.
