thank very muchi enjoy the dub style! R32 wheels? tis a R32 or GTI>
this thread kinda mis-guides.
All wheel manufacturers have to follow the industry standard for both OEM and NON-OEM wheels by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) which is stamped on the backside of all wheels and a company has to meet or exceed the specs and regulations set forth by "SAE". All wheels have their limitations...which is why there are FWD and RWD application specific wheels. There are also cases of HRE's, CCW's, and FISKE's having wheels separate just as you have ROTA's shown.
If it was a cut and dry case of these individuals launching off the line or doing a hard stop in every day driving, then there would be a problem, but the fact remains these individuals were driving or pushing these wheels beyond SAE regulations, where the manufacturer no longer holds any blame. Now, for race applications yes the wheels are held to a higher standard but does that mean they are indestructible? No, because of the amount of heat that is produced in hard braking and quick cool downs effects the overall integrity of the wheels, and after time of alot of hard use...they will too separate or crack.
point is, all wheels are held to the same standard otherwise they would not be in business and all these claims againest the company would have had them shut down long ago...but viable evidence proves that the wheels were used beyond their limits.
yep r32 wheels stock on 20th anniversary gti
sigh peter why do you have to ALWAYS add logic to my threads?!?!?!?!?!?! WTF! out i say OUT! makin me look bad here geez!

thank you!
ROTAS ARE GAY! CONTINUE WITH THAT HAET!
thats from over tightening lug nuts, not the forging on the wheel being bad.
Plus, there was a thread on HT awhile back about this an come to find out alot of those pics are wheels from cars that were wrecked and slammed into a curb.
The pics make the JDM fanboys feel better about their $3000 rims
Now, it depends on what kind of knockoff you get. Knockoffs are like XEROX copies. A copy of the original is hard to tell the difference. But once you do a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy .....
The copy gets worse an worse as you go.
Then ther is SAE Standards, which is another post altogether
So id stick with ROTA and SPORTMAX and stay away from SSK and SPOOM

I'll buy Rotas.
Lots of race cars have them without issues.
you are correct mike my SUper JDM RARE wheels cost me a whopping..... 250 bucks to my doorEPIC WIN, stronger AND lighter than rotas.... JDM > rota again...
i woudn't dare rock some off brand pos wheels on my car, simply cause well.... i don't buy trash for my car... and to me rota and sportmax < OEM. i'd roll stock before i rolled rota...
its all in where you look but you are correct... i really do HATE rota more simply for the fact that they are just that.... copies.... bwhaha i wouldn't pay over 1100 bucks for a good set of wheels... and i sure as hell wouldn't pay the 500 bucks PLUS for Rotas...
lol lol ahhh how i miss these good quality threads on IA.....
