links no good, and you can disagree all you want....there wont be another gto, atleast for a long time....with the release of more anticipated cars like the camaro and challenger this year there isnt room for pontiac to try another coupe, they have the g8 gt coming out this year....which oddly enough shares the front end with the coupe 60....go figure....
in march of 2006 bob lutz announced that even though the gto was being phased out that we would be seeing a return of the gto in late 08/early 09....have you seen a test mule? have you heard rumors?.....when did they start leaking the new camaro? years ago.....you think pontiacs going to throw some **** together in a few months time? wont happen, period, maybe 5-10 years from now, but with beinging nameplates, i.e. the gto, charger, challenger, etc back, becoming popular we will be more likely to see a firebird than another rendition of a gto
and the other report was from motortrend which was this rendering by GM for the new gto that motortrend seemed to stand strong on being released in late 07 as an 08 model....that time has come and gone...i just dont see it happening

This drawing is exactly what I meant by pontiac or cady getting the chassis and butchering the car. That front end in the picture is horrible.
To be honest, I dont doubt GM not bringing it over. I mean Americans like the domestic look and the few (like those of us that like the car) are such a small percentage of the population that it wouldnt matter. The current GTO looks good, it just needed to be about 500lbs lighter.
