I'd have to say that in a comparison form the years of 2004 (first year of the STi)-2006 I'd opt for the STi. But if I had to pick a 2007-2008 car I'd probably go for the Z.
I feel like I've picked up similar vibes to this current argument multiple times on this board. It seems like most people except for Z owners have something against the Z, and that Z owners hate STi's. Why can't you just like both. They're both very fun and sporty cars.
yeah lets get back to the original topic, we have jacked this thread enough already . i really hope nissan doesnt actually plan on manufacturing that horrible exscuse for an suv. which i dont believe they will, but it would be bad if the did. the porsche has a sense of aristocracy which nissan just cant match. GTR=awesome. GTR SUV= not so awesome
I really like the 2007 and 2008 350z but this "sean" character is too easy :)Quote:

Cause if that's the case that be a waste of a gtr. A gt car has to see the track ones in a while... Drive it to the track, race it, drive it home. That's what their built for.
Again, this is all you buddy :goodjob:

Everyone check it....you too "SEAN"
on a final note "sean" why have you made repeated referenced about performance when at the end of the day you lack any knowledge of it?
Nissan's performance division is called NISMO ~ excerpt from your sig...
WHY ""sean" WHY?
its not an i-4 its a boxer 4 or flat 4Quote:

For the record, if I had a choice, I wouldn't pick either. I'd buy a used vette. Riding in Leadfoot_mf's Vette makes my pants tight.
Yes boxer 4... didn'tn even catch that.Quote:

Its funny because Sean fits the stereotype that Jeremy Clarkson puts on 350Z drivers!
This is the STI on Top Gear

I bet this is what makes Sean get wet dreams....

LOL
I guess there's been a good bit of improvement since 03, because I've driven my Dad's 06 multiple times and never have I disagreed more with Clarkson.Quote:

The 350z was a flop. The car is downright ugly, it is not all that fast(a 95 e36 m3 with 240hp has equal speed), it doesn't handle all that well and it is a bit "thick in the waist". The majority of the drivers I see are business woman and middle aged men. I rarely see anyone that is not just "driving" the car actually DRIVING one. It is a car that gets noticed on the road though and that is why the owners are buying them, however as a performance/enthusiasts car it really isn't.
To the other points that were expressed...
1 - The door handles do look like they were added after the car was done, kind of like the Dodge with the battery in the fender... "Oh sheet, we need door handles".
2 - Interior... Am I driving a Sentra?
3 - VQ = Boat Anchor... 300hp is nothing when you get into a real performance car running with a 6 cylinder. BMW was making 330hp out of a 3.2L I-6 back in 96...
4 - That bar is dumb, what is it there for? Another place to stick a "Z"
5 - Still are ugly to me :)
Now for the Suby STI is better. For me it is, it has more soul, more life. On top of that it corners better, it stops better and in my eyes looks better. Here is the think, the styling is radical but guess what? Does anyone not know what it is? I think the new STI is bad, it doesn't look like a Subaru! 2.5RS 2 door, wide track, hood scoop and vents. STI same thing. That is the look and why it looks good! I understand that Subaru is tired of losing in WRC and the 4 door doesn't work as well. They can't take losing to Citroen and Ford in hatchbacks anymore... Answer is to make the STI a hatch and bring back the crown once again!
Now onto the little EVO talk... Sure it is fast, sure it beats the STI in comparos. If I am buying a car like that I want to know it has some pedigree. Mitsu dropped out of WRC, it can't keep a tranny in a car and they suck. On a side note, much like the 350z, I feel like I am driving a 2g eclipse RS... Are these interior plastics going to break when I turn the heat up?
Carry on!
Good post... i own a GD and ive driven the new sti.... Drive the car then make your decision,.....Trust me if anything its worth the drive.Quote:

i feel the evo x deserves a chance as well. Everyone says its ugly. I dont think so. But driving it is something i have yet to do. And see if the evo 9 20 cent interior improved.
Rumor has it 1/2 season will bring the new STI. Solberg and Atkinson are 5th and 6th in WRC and Subaru is in 2nd and they are driving a car that development was frozen on!
I will go drive a new EVO... with blinders on until I get inside the car so I don't have to see the exterior :)
i posted this earlier makes it look better!Quote:

It is just gross... something about it. The odd lines in the front. Th headlights look like they wanted to fit rectangles but couldn't so they just crushed them between the hood and bumper. 3 piece bumper in the front...
uh... i guess?Quote:

You E36 is amazing....Opinion on some BBS wheels for it?
Nah... I don't spend large amount of money on wheels so BBS is out for now. Maybe when I pick up some big sponsors I get some wheels :)
The wheels on the car were 50 dollars an include rare 17x9 rear wheels :) I will have it out at the varsity I decided :)
i ll look for it... check repQuote:
