    Default Accord:Project Boost

*update on bottom of page 2*

Starting my build thread early.Update when i get new parts, then course when I install it!
    Car- OBD2, 99 accord coupe, F23 2.3L SOHC/ 5speed-

    • Parts so far:
    • Treadstone Turbo Manifold
    • XS power turbo T04E .50A/R compressor, .63AR turbine
    • SS oil line kit, with Oil Restrictor(so i wont blow "ebay" turboseals)
    • TiAl wastegate .5 bar / 5bolt downpipe flange probably dont need.lol
    • 2plug IACV plug wire for obd2-1 IACV conversion

I know its a cheap turbo, dont waste your money. But I got a oil restrictor so hopfully itl last a little longer than normal.

    shot just for fun.

SS oil line 41"(long enough?) all the fittings, and 5bolt downpipe flange.

    • Wastegate and IACV wire hasnt arrived yet, post pics as soon as i get them. this should be a fun interesting project.Hopfully get done during spring break, wanna take it to Balanced Performance or somewhere close to me.still going to trailor it there but want it close!
any inputs, advice.and of course famous flamming.

That turbo won't last more than 5,000 miles I guarantee it..but g'luck to you anyway Hopefully the compressor and turbine wheels don't fly apart since those turbo's arent balanced well.

Save up for a Turbonetics turbo..they aren't super expensive.

Sounds like a fun project though..and the Treadstone Manifolds are really really good quality, very tough and inexpensive.

You need a LOT more stuff for this project though, intercooler, BOV, downpipe, oil drain, not to mention the fuel upgrades and a computer to tune it all.

Also be careful when threading on the oil feed line to the fitting that goes on the turbo. Those aluminum fittings are JUNK..and even the slightest over tightening or cross threading will cause it to snap off. I know from experience installing a friends turbo.

one word of advice from an experienced turbo tuner...do NOT skimp on engine management. The key to making power and keeping reliability is a GOOD TUNE. Spend the extra money on at bare minimum an Apexi AFC Neo..or jump to a GReddy eManage.

To give you an idea of how much difference it makes, on my own SR20DET powered 240, I made 440 whp on a SAFC-II...jumping to an AEM EMS, I made 505 whp..on the exact same boost, timing, and fuel.

i plan on getting the chipped ecu from that phearable.net then take it to balanced performance for tune and dyno and Crome burned for tunning.Or w/e is the closest tuner for stone mtn,

Ha took the advice I see. Good luck with everything. Well have to run when you get everything done. I've lost to another turbo accord on here, but I always like to see how I'll fair. Should be pretty quick tho. Keep me posted on the progress fool

...Well, its a shame you went with such a cheap turbo. my mantra is "do it once, do it right". BUT at least you aren't like BaggedAccord and you're at least TRYING to add some performance. lol

im not trying to make huge numbers..i just want a little over 200 to the wheels.just somthing to have fun with for my DD and of course the excellent sound of the BOV..lol

but does any1 know of a closer place to stone mtn for dyno and tune? Balanced perfomance is 39 mins from my house.that is pretty close just woundering because ill b renting a uhaul or somthing to trailor the car.

No..they just have a close partnership..Tial uses Garrett turbo's for their turbo systems and Garrett in turn pushes Tial wastegates. They are an authorized dealer/vendor for each other.
