the black will be gloss. after i get that touched up, all i'll need is clearcoat. i'm waiting until the weekend due to sore, bright red skin. i'm really happy with the way it is turning out though. the car has certainly come a long way in the last year.

i'm not quite done with it yet... what's black will be gloss black. i may end up with carbon stuff later on down the road, but the miata hood is already ultra light, and i can't see spending 700 dollars for a hood made of 100% carbon in order to shave off 7 lbs or so... same with the trunk.Originally Posted by Eli
the fiberglass hoods with one layer of carbon that most folks get actually weighs more than the factory hood (aluminum) and i especially won't buy something strictly for the look. that's a dumb reason to spend 350 dollars.

nah, i live in lawrenceville, i was just over near grayson last night with a friend...you thought about taking a trip up to see les at mid tenn miata...he' makes some nice goodies that i used on my miata...

the miata was a 94....but that was back in 2000, erin (hipsi) also had one back in the day and of course martamike and droptopdrifter still have theirs...i think.
i'm sure you've of course heard of rspeed in marietta right??
or the mr2 is a 91 body...not sure which you were asking about.
the mr2. that's cool though... the suspension on mine is the one off mike's white car, but i actually purchased a coilover system and a few other items from rspeed before i wrecked it. bent two and blew 3 of the struts on the coilovers. i didn't know erin had one before the nissan. how do you like the mr2? that was another option i was considering when i bought my replacement for the hatch, but there weren't any of them worth buying at the time.
