It was again the Varis MKSport Cyber Evo 5 that had the day's fastest lap. The JUN 2.2 stroker kit and HKS GT3240 powered the car to a best time of 56.687, a new record lap the car. I love watching this car in action, all of the suspension and chassis work done to the car and it still gets sideways pulling out of the tight corners. It looks like won't be much longer before this car is running with the newer model Cyber Evo. Right now it's less than one second off the Sun Cyber Evo's pace!

Following hot on the heels of the Cyber Evo 5 was another CP9A Evo, this one from Technical Factory Hirano in Saitama. Clocking a best lap of 57.945, it was the second fastest entry of the day.

Does this look like a car that will lap Tsukuba in 58 seconds? It did. 58.644 to be exact. This FC3S is built by Super Now and it absolutely rips. They have some great in car videos on their website, check them out if you have a chance. I guess this car is about as "sleeper" as a machine like this can get. I think its the non-outstanding wheels and lack of any graphics or stickers that fool people. Did I mention the car has lambo (carbon) doors as well?

Next up, with a lap time of 58.951 was the wicked looking FD RX7 from CAM.

Rounding out the top five was this flame-spitting FD3S from Esperanza/Calm. The gray/black paint scheme gives this RX7 a military-type look. Best lap time was 59.773.
Now a look at a few of the other competitors-

The Scorch S15 S was the fastest non-Evo/RX7 of the day. This Silvia is always on the verge of jumping under the one minute mark.

Garage WORK came home with a best lap of 1:02.218 with this grip-tuned 180SX.

Another CP9 Evo from MKSport and Voltex. Lap time was 1:00.405.

Lastly, the lone Subaru of the day. Garage Kagotani's GDB came home with a 1:01.114 lap time for 10th overall.
