    YES.

    Does it have an Ecotec, or is it non-eco?

    If its non-eco, you should probably try to get an Ecotec motor....but you HAVE TO get tranny off the same motor (or same size and kind of motor), or it wont bolt up.

    Also, to swap your trans to a 5-spd, you'll need to reflash your ECU, or pull that from the 5-spd car too. best to just find a wrecking yard that has cavi or sunfire front clips; all the parts should be there if you decide to buy the clip.

    my friend also did a 5spd swap in his sunbird...

    it went from a auto 3.1v6 to a 5spd 2.0 turbo.. not sure if the older trannies worlk with the ecotec motor, but there are alot of 5spd cavy's and sunbirds in the yard.

    nah the 2.4 GM motors aren't ecotec thats mainly the 2.2

    92 Lx 466, 11.8 @ 111 (Daily Driver )
    98 sunfire GT (terrible gas mileage)
