Smile My 540i. & exhaust video.

    Introduction here:
    http://www.importatlanta.com/forums/...5#post36354045

    Well this is my car.

I bought it for $3700 in 06 and it was beat to hell and back, with 193k miles. It now has 202k and still scares me sometimes power-wise.

The car has a 4.0L V8 DOHC. 282hp 295tq. 26,000 of these cars were made world-wide, and only 1300 were manual. Hopefully, I'll be doing that swap soon.

Since parts for this car are relatively rare, some of these parts are on order and being shipped from germany(2+ months)

    Mods:

    ext:
Front brake ducts, with cutom center lip.
    Painted rockers.
    Ghetto-euro muffler.
    Colored BMW roundels
    De-badged
    Black Grills
    Shadowline
    17" e39 M5 reps - love/hate relationship
    Europlate
    European trim
    Gold brake calipers
    TA on teh rimz
    HID 6k(on order)
    lip spoiler(on order)
    roof spoiler(on order)

    Performance:
    K&N air filter
Stripped exhaust, soon to be full straight pipes
    Transmission chip(on order)
    Performance chip(on order)
    Lowtec 60/40 springs(on order)
    M5 spring pads

Hopefully once I get the engine mods done, I'll be around 250rwhp.

And before you tell me I need a drop, my lowering springs are being shiped to me at the end of december.

And my center caps should be here soon.......

    I agree.

Sadly, that is probably the only picture of my car at a half-way nice location...and its blurry....not to mention old.

I have heard of it, but never been by the place. Where area is it located in? I might have to swing by sometime.

Those 750IL's have some awesome engines in them! 300hp and 700hp+ twin turbo potential!

Sounds like a guy I'd get along with.

Thanks. This body style(e34) 540i is pretty rare around here. Especially modded ones. Should be even be even better when I do my 65/40 drop.

    Thanks.

I don't run the tag too much(for obvious reasons) but I do put it on for meets and pictures and such.

I once had a lady wait on me at my car with a cop when I was in walmart so she could yell at me and call me a sexist pig. The cop told the lady to stop wasting his time.
One of the only times I've ever agreed with a police officer lol.

    Crossfires are sexy cars.

I am happy with the exhaust note, but I'd like it a little louder. I'm going no cats over the christmas break.

Pretty straight E34, man. I do have to admit I laughed when I read that it scares you power-wise, though

I thought about doing straight pipes (cutting the cats and resonators out of the midpipe) too on my E36, but really, I know there'd be too many times where I wouldn't like it at all. It's pretty obnoxious more times than not.

Sick 540. Welcome to the club. I'd recommend getting a real cat back and going cat-less but mind you it will be very very loud...My old E39 was just that. Never got so many compliments on now insane the car sounded, with Eisenmann. P/M Fast5 at Bf.c. He has video's of his and he's famous for the sound of his car.

haha maybe its the driver that scares me haha.

I really love the sound straight pipes. And when I drive, its either with the music loud, or windows down listening to the exhaust note.

Thanks. Yes more euro is needed on this site. Hopefully I'll contribute to that

Thanks. I'm thinking of going cat-less and keeping just the resonator. I like loud though No emissions FTW. I checked Fast5's exhausr and it sounds amazing. One of my favs.

    That video had inspired me
