Good luck finding one in good condition. I'm trying to pick up another 626 at the moment because sooner or later they'll all be gone. Well, at least the one I want.Originally Posted by JITB
i see afew with bad motors.. most people get rid of them and most people dont take care of them either. I know they are expensive to repair tho..Originally Posted by Six2Six
Yeah most of the time when I see them on the road they're burning oil. And they have a 3.0L JE; might be kind of hard finding parts for it.
I've always been into those.
I had no idea there was a fan base for them.
there isnt...lol ther isnt even a 929 forum, all theygot is the sub forums on the mazdawrld forums..Originally Posted by Logan
stuff is real expensive for the car tho. everything has to come from overseas. I hear the lowering springs are 1500$!!
eibach has a set at japanparts.com not too pricey
Cut the springs lol

Are these RWD? Can you get them in a stick? There is one sitting at my dads house with a blown tranny. I always wanted to fix it but never had the spare cash.....
Yes they are RWD. Im not sure of the 929's before 92, but 92+ didnt come with a 5spd option. They were also 3.0Ls. I used to have a green one in excellent exterior condition but had a blown motor. I was debating on dropping a 20b rotory (as the sentia came with those in Japan) or fabbing up mounts for a VG30DETT. BUT instead i sold it to Perkins Auto Recycling for a whopping $100. If i would have known people were into this thing, I could have made at least a grand on the shell. Oh well
sentia came with the 13bt, and the rotary swap as i hear only requires the crossmember from the rotary sentia to fit.
Well there you have it. I just might buy a 929 shellOriginally Posted by JITB
dont quote me on that, but there has been a few people who said they were gonna do it. but never really did it. BUt there wa a guy in australia who sold almost everything u need for the swap. But i know the 929 has the same auto tranny as the Rx7.. so thats a start! i myself dont think it would be a hard swap to do. but i know the 13b in the 92-95 would be a slug..lolOriginally Posted by blank cd
but you were right somewhat the newer and last model 929's did come with the 20B's.
Yeah. Thats what i was gonna do. I had a 93. I was gonna throw a 20B in it and turbo it and swap the tranny and have a nice little fun sedanOriginally Posted by JITB

Since then my bank has downsized. lol. I got smart and got a 4 cylinder. that thing drunk some gas.
I love the 929...I think they look so cool, they're pretty unique, and it's not hard to make one look awesome.
I really like that one in the very first picture.
