Header + exhaust + flywheel which causes insane gear noise + gutted interior means I have to have the top down as much as possible to keep from going deaf. And the extra $850-up for a hardtop is so much better spent on other parts.

Yeah seriously, plus with roll bar they look good. And after you drive one topless you will fall in love.

When you see a guy in a Miata it looks kind of fruity regardless of the top being up or down.

That being said, I just got a 94 R package Miata 2 weeks ago and it is the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

Well, the Miata got a little banged up tonight. My boss backed into it at a pretty good rate of speed in his F-250 dually. Moved the entire car over a foot or so.

    Time to sue your company...

Honestly one of my valets hit a black miata the other night in one of the parking lots with a Lexus SUV because he couldnt see it behind them.

Miatas are little and I still love them.

Be glad you were not in it.

True enough, Miata's are small, but the real problem is that everything else on American roads is ridiculously, extravagantly, uselessly huge.

Not suing, but it's getting paid for. Fortunately all of the damage was confined to the door itself. I count myself lucky as hell he didn't hit the rear quarter panel, it was a near miss.

    And guys in tC's don't ? lol

I think the tC is more of a ***** car then a Miata hahaha.

Miata- Designed as a sports car, rwd, 2 seater. Used in hundreds of races, won countless trophies among alot of other things

tC- Basically a Camry coupe. Built with the same concept of the Civic... to get college students to school and back and to haul groceries. Only racing the tC's ever did was the celebrity charity race....and they use them because they are slow and cheap to fix lol.

Already did. The Miata is back in one piece. New door, window, window regulator, side mirror. None of the new pieces fit quite right though, and for some reason the room for adjustment wasn't enough to make the panels line up quite right, nor the window in relation to the top, but it keeps the cold out. I don't guess it'll ever be quite right again.

Thanks to Kurt for helping me out in a bind!

You're trying to compare apples and oranges. I'm a huge Mazda fan, but I also have a tC. The Miata debuted in 1989 before the whole "tuner" scene existed; right before automakers lost their balls and started going FWD. The Miata was a car for the female that loved spirited driving. Yeah Miatas have been in many races due to the fact their RWD, compact, nimble, cheap, and they've been around for 20 years.

Fast forward 16 years later and you have the tC; launched in 2005 in the middle of the "tuner" scene. Designed to be easily customizable, reliable, and fuel efficient. However, that is changing. For example, you have Chris Rado and his time attack tC:

    You also have Jackson-Dawson Scion:

There is also a 739whp tC sponsored by Nitto:

And most recently in the works, a RWD tC sponsored by Scion and RSR:

So, please, cut the crap. Trying to talk trash about something you know nothing about isn't a good look.

Where in my post did I say the tC would become a better track car than the Miata? Exactly, I didn't. Besides, I doubt that will happen in it's current form. Why don't you try reading before you post.

how about you show where the **** you got that from??

ive never read or heard that anywhere, you are obviously either:

    1. an idiot
    2. dont have a miata
    3. like talking **** that YOU dont know about.
    4. an idiot

you showed 3 racing tc's. probably the only 3 real "racing" tc's there are..

    and i quote

LOL don't get your panties in a bunch. I like the Miata, hence the reason I haven't said anything negative about it. Unless you count the "female driver" comment.

No ****, Sherlock. The tC has been in existance for only three years. Whereas the Miata has been around for almost 20.

Wow, what happened in here? Lol.

Kamikaze is right, it's comparing apples to oranges.

The tC isn't really...good at anything, and apparently wasn't meant to be. Fwd, mediocre handling, goofy looking, and average gas mileage. The Miata is the opposite of all of those things.

I like the examples of the road racer tC's, btw. Most any car can be something really ridiculously awesome if someone puts a few hundred grand into it. Gimme about $75,000 and I could make a Volvo 240 wagon run with that time attack tC.

The Miata, however, takes a significantly smaller investment to turn it into a giant killer.

And suddenly you're a resident expert on the design and purpose of Mazda vehicles? Practice what you preach on the whole 'don't talk about what you don't know'....

But if your comment holds truth about the Miata, then Corvettes are designed for balding old men with small ****s who never drive fast, Civics are designed for Asians, SUV's are designed for 5'2" soccer moms who have no kids, Camaros were made for rednecks, and the list of assumptions like your's can go on and on.

It's a fact that the tC was designed to be a cheap, economical vehicle that was "fun to drive" and purposefully aimed at a younger generation of buyer...as were ALL the "Scion" brand cars.

What's the point in this? You shouldn't just come in going "Miatas with the top down make and guy driving them look gay" when you don't even know anything about them.

    Sorry for the threadjack.

Heck, if your boss was paying for the damage, i'd at least have taken the parts to a shop for proper fitting. But hopefully you'll get it sorted out.

Now to go see if Kurt has some parts i need.....
