It's never existed, i just want something that is not common and bmw e30's in original form are all too common for me. Not to mention I love the M Coupe/M Shoe but can't see myself spending $20k on a stock vehicle to use as a play car when I could have a completely built E30 hatch for less.Originally Posted by DeweyWRX
Honestly I don't even find the car all that attractive but what is comes down to it will basically be a Group A Rally car with the looks and similiar performance of the Peugot 205 T16, Lancia Delta, Renault 5 Turbo, Audi Sport Quattro, etc.
Suspension $2k, custom brake kit $1+k, 193hp/207lbs-ft. donor engine w/ transmission $1,500-2,500+, 11lb clutch & flywheel assembly $1,800, Roll cage $2k+, donor body $500-1k, Precision GT30R Turbo kit w/ Megasquirt <$5k, etc. etc. Then you add in paint and body, details & finishing touches $$$...with a final product equaling 360whp/380lbs-ft. torque (low boost on stock engine) in a 2,200lb vehicle.
Just for a fun little comparison:
2007 997/911 Turbo - 480hp - 3,400lbs = 7.28 Power to Weight Ratio
2007 F430 - 483hp - 3,196lbs = 6.62
2007 Porsche GT3 RSR - 415hp - 2,700lbs = 6.51
2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Coupe - 520hp - 3,153lbs = 6.06
2007 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano - 620hp - 3,482lbs = 5.62
I'm anticipating 360whp @ low boost of 10psi with full spool around 2,500 RPM's in a 2,200 lb. vehicle = a power to weight ratio of 6.11![]()

...but I'm not sure I get the appeal of it...
