Default a new look for my rx7

ok so i knopw im gunna get a bunch of **** because of the brand and whatnot bet hey these were free..
because the rim place gave me the wrong bolt pattern on my car so...i took it back and told them so they ordered the same ones but right bolt pattern...but this time i got them wider in the back with a better offset...
and the idiots there streched the hell out of my previous back tires...8.5 wide on my new 9.5 wide...so the tires look bad so and input on what size tire would look good on a 18x9.5 with +35 offset..

well with all this here they are..
let me know what you think and try not to bash to had..

no, the stretch looks stupid. you have a wide wheel that can support a wide tire. use it.
275's fit well on my 9.5's.
As for susp, I went with some older Tein HA's. I originally wanted just a new set of Koni's with a Ground Control Setup, but that was going to cost me $1200.... I was able to snag some lightly used HA's with new mounts for a little under a grand (perfect spring rate of 10k/8k) and I cannot BELIEVE how much better of a car this thing is. I had a track day before the susp and it felt like a boat (notice the body roll in my sig). The track day afterwards felt comparably orgasmic.
Anyway, do susp you won't regret it.
As for tires, 245's up front and 275's out back. (but I believe that 255F and 285R should fit aswell).

Stretch is good, but it looks like your current tires are over-strecthed. Add about 20mm to the width of those tires at least!

    275 Sounds good!

What do you have in the rear right now?

    245-255?

I'm not a fan of stretched tires, ecspecially on a car that's not even dropped.

Nice looking car and wheels, but the stretch looks dumb. Get fatter tires on there + suspension of some sort. You'll like it much more.

Stretched tires make me nervous. Look like they're just barely hanging on for dear life. Wheels look good though, as everyone else has said sort out the tires and a drop and you're set.

275/35R18 in the rear is my best bet. It looks like the tire is about to come off the bead. In my opinion. Nice car by the way. Good choice of rims.

Stretched tires look cool, but performance wise its not so good. Make use of wider, better tires and your car might not be so tail-happy.

I'd rather see a seat of bigger tires on the back.

I love the style of wheel but they look like the same wheels in your sig. Also you HAVE to get that stretched worked out, it looks like crap and that's potential grip you are losing.

EDIT: just re-read and all I have t say is 227!?! I love wide tires! and you'll love the grip!

no, an RX-7 is made to handle, if you take out all the suspension travel, it'll handle like $hit, a small drop is fine but when you start to dive into looks over the functionality of a vehicle, you step into the rice zone.

(DICLAIMER NOTE THING: ok I've noticed that anytime I say the "r-word" people act like I'm the devil and get real mad at me and say I don't have any taste then argue for forever, so I should add that I am very strict on what will qualify something as rice in my eyes)

Good selection on the tire width. Traction is your friend.
As for suspension. What are your goals? Which carries precedence, looks or performance? Will the car see any track duty?

Hymm. Looks odd without it being slammed. I would go 275/285 or as wide as possible on the 7. Thought I was on Zilvia for a minute LOL.

Look for some posts by a member on rx7club named Howard Coleman. He is one of the resident experts on track-suspension setups. He recommended the 10k front / 8k rear spring rates for a street car that would see moderate track time (which is what I am doing) and I can tell you that it is comfortable on the street but brilliant on the track.
I think the Tein Flex is the newer model of the HA, but I am not certain that they retained the same spring rates. If the Flex is 10k/8k, I would seriously consider them if I were you.
