Group B cars are rally cars, the Cosworth Escort was ahead of Group B if I am not mistaken. A Group B car would hand an Evo it's ass and probably ACTUALLY be able to do circles around an Evo accelerating. The cars were RIDICULOUS and banned because of the dangers with them from crowd control and other issues.
The Cosworth will kill an Evo as well, ESPECIALLY A WRX, I would take either of the two over an Evo ANY day.

ur right, but i think the cossie was after the group B era.. because the escort, was in the WRC..and did very very very well!
I think those Escorts are def. one of the best looking cars of that time. A lot better looking then the Subie. Unique. And if they went head to head without the sliding I would bet the Escort would win. But hey those guys put on a hell of a show with their driving

The aero styles you see on these cars is fully functional and that car was around before there was such a thing as "riced out" on a car.you might want to read up on this particular car. 300 hp all wheel drive boosted dohc 2.0 back in the EIGHTIES. These cars were the reason there is a car like an EVO.

I'll have to find the vid, but i found some guys with highly tuned Escort Cosworths doing launches on a runway..... IIRC, the 0-60 on some of the well modd'ed cars were doing 0-60 in sub-3 second times. (2.6 ish)

Nah you can pick them up for under 100k if find a deal, the one I was looking at went for 96k I think.

When i saw the title "RS500" i was actually picturing the RS200. But then i went and looked up the RS500, but it was a 2 door also.
When i said Sierra, i was meaning the 4-door...
Also, i have seen where someone swapped one of the 2.0L motors into a Miata in the UK
