total grandma car on the outside, total beast under the hood. they'll run mid 8's in the 1/4mi any day
LOLOLOL, then you wake up from your wet dream!! What kinda drugs you on?!

The only Grand National that had serious power/performance was the '87 GNX and it was still no where near 8 seconds, in stock form it wouldn't even see 12's

no ****! Not to mention the sound of the idle of an 8 second domestic car...dead giveaway

A sleeper has the appearance of a stock car and normally one that is not known to be quick. I'm not saying it can't have a stock exhaust and just before launch open up the servo controlled cutout but sitting there hanging out it's gotta sound relatively stock.

All these cars are sleepers, doesn't matter if they have 200whp or 1000whp. If it looks like a regular beater or stock car but can do some damage, then it's a sleeper. GIVE IT UP.

i'd still race it. no traction with those ****ty ass tires. but if was able to modify the front suspension to run a shorter axle and tuck some 8-10" wide fronts....that'd be sick!!

What does the rear end have to do with hooking? Are you serious? It doesn't matter what rear end you have when you only have 500 lbs. on the rear axle with radial street tires you ain't going no where fast! Even with slicks your probably going to have issues.

    200hp and doing damage?

The Nova is pretty cool for a sleeper. The older Nova's, Camaros, Etc. owners mostly ran huge tires in their days and that guy looks like he is from those days. I would definitely call his azz out anytime just to get my azz handed to me but by the looks of the car and driver a lot of people would be fooled. There are 100's maybe 1000's of 13-16 second cars with roll cages and huge tires. Now the sound of a 8 second car just may give t away for anyone that knows anything about performance/power.

Not trying to start a flame war but dayum use your noggins a little bit.

I'll take into consideration your lack of knowlege about foreign cars, i'll explain it kindly. The Miata pictured weighs in at about 2500lb including a driver and full tank of gas. 2330 is the dry weight. Most Miatas have either a 4.10 or even a 4.30 rear.... which is way to short for one with that much power. Now getting the 3.90 LSD from a later model Miata effective makes 1st and 2nd gear longer, making launching easier and reducing wheel spin. The 3.90 is actaually a very tall gear on a 5-spd Miata..... kinda like putting a 3.6 in your mustang. Also, having a ligher weight car does not require having super large contact patch or super sticky tires. Why is it hard to get grip from a lightweight rear-wheel drive car?

Did you say rwd and lightweight?

If your talking about getting traction with a good tire @ 200 hp from a 70 mph roll then you may be just fine going that slow. But pulling up and surprising a "real" car with that then you should become a comedian.

oh, im not talking about a wimpy 200rwhp car at all sir. I was referring to the silver one i posted..340rwhp. My Miata is ~200rwhp.... and its fun and quick, but by no means fast. And since when is a 2300-2500 car considered heavy?

Okay since you have already gone astray and now changing things around let's make this simple as possible.

Where did I say 2,300-2,500 lb's was heavy? What are you smoking? I was agreeing with you and with it being light weight and rwd your gonna need something additional to get grip with no weight on the rear axle. Do you come on here and try to find something to argue about? It is common sense and simple physics.

The 200 hp is the one I was referring to as surprising someone at a red light.

The other one with the swapped axle is the one that I was referring to as having traction issues for the power range.

Man your getting this all twisted up... Whew.

And the bugman has spoken... and regulated lol.

Enough with the pics... find videos... I can *place* a TT 427 jet in my s14... doesn't mean the **** runs lol.

I do wish, however, that I had my camera with me when I got my ass handed to me by what appeared to be just another silly ricer. This guy probably dropped like $500 at Pep Boys.... park bench wing, bullet hole stickers, bad LED's, APC stickers everywhere, carbon fiber stickers.... it was BAD... all on a 4 door 92 accord. At a light outside of Jefferson, he's all giving me looks in my old del Sol... Light turned and I took off. He's nowhere to be seen, so I just kinda keep going. Next thing I know, dude FLIES by, and all I hear is the all-too familiar turbo whine and BOV... turned out under that riced out POS looking hood was a nicely built H22 turbo. Intercooler painted black, I got pwned. Now THAT'S a sleeper lol.

Fuck stance. Stance is for kids in skinny jeans with Justin Beiber haircuts. You don't need stance when you got swagger.

the green civics game would be up real fast.

    a) the gigantic FMIC gives the game away.
    b) those rinky dink ass front tires would rather spin their silly asses into oblivion, than actually put that power to the ground and move the car.

Everyone keep saying that the intercooler gives away the sleeper status on the green eg BS.Why? Because if you was in a parking lot with that car you would overlook it because it looks trashy. And if he pulled up to you on the highway, you wouldn't be able to see the intercooler anyways.

Also, you dont need 100000038354u93248054909f0Hp to be a sleeper. A sleeper is a car that would catch you off guard. That EF is a sleeper, because you would never expect a high 12's (low 13's) 1/4mile out of a car that looks bone stock, with factory hubcaps, that run 17's stock.

That EF is a sleeper, because you would never expect a high 12's (low 13's) 1/4mile out of a car that looks bone stock, with factory hubcaps, that run 17's stock.

dont matter what kind of honda it is, sleeper status is gonna be hard

    THEYVE BEEN EXPOSED!!

If it runs those times then it would definitely catch a good bit of people off guard including me. Not sure how many it would smoke from a red light but impressive none the less.
