The reason the ride is stiff and uncomfortable is probably because of the higher spring rate of the coilovers you put on the car.

Stock spring rate is 212/117 lbs/in., some coilover sleeves like the ones from Skunk2 (558/446 lbs/in.) are more than double the stock spring rate.
