Well I found out why the speedo wasn't working. I shorted it out and fried the VSS.
I went threw all the wires and couldn't find the short so I rewired the cluster and reran all the wires to the VSS and still couldn't get it to work.
I did get it to work using a old crx speedo. I wired the new clusters speed input to the output of the crx on and they both spin at the same speed.

Also to clear my head I went on a 2 hour bike ride after work. Found out its still cold on the top of a mountain. But still had a blast.
