before I put in the motor mount inserts my motor would rock a good inch back and forth when I started off. With the mounts, it doesn't move at all. It also stopped the wheel hop issue I had.
I can deal with the vibration its just something you get use to when you drive a 19yo car.
-
mine just makes an awful sound lol and its up against the strut tower bar so it dosent really move.
-
Look what finally showed up.
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...gracluster.jpg
It took 22days from the time I payed till today for it to arrive. But hey I only payed $33.50 for it.
I've got everything I needed to install it in my CRX except the 90-91 cluster cover. I have one but I just got to go pick it up from a friend. I'm going to get motivated and try to get this sucked finished by next week but I really don't see me finishing the motor or the cluster swap soon.
All thats left to do on the motor is finish notching the block and reassemble it.
-
I finished notching the block today and everything clears. I was going to ride over to my friends and pick up my tools then stop buy a auto parts store for the last few things I needed. But it started to rain again and the only ride I had was my bike. Tomorrow morning I'm going over there to get my tools and I'm hoping to have the motor all back together by tomorrow night. I really want it running before the 7th but I'm not holing my breath.

Got some work done today. I'm stuck because I need a 12point 12mm socket and its rain like hell. I really need a rain suit so I can ride my bike in the rain.

Looking good, man. Actually moving faster than I though.

Tomorrow I'm going to start on the wiring for the cluster and get that working.

-
I have no idea. Soon just got to save up for it.
-
i feel you cars are to expensive.who you gonna get to tune it this time and are you stayin on crome? im thinkin about gettin a hondata system to get mine retune this week. i dont know anyone running alot of boost and makin power with crome

-
when you gonna have her back in
-
hopefully by next weekend.
-
Well I hit a small set back on my motor build. after I got it all back together and put the spark plugs in it. I rotated the crank and got a really weird sound. It was oil making bubbling noises as it squeezed thew the rings.
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...DSCF2193-1.jpg
I forgot to properly aline the ring end gaps on the #2 piston.
So my brand new head gasket hit the trash.
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...r/DSCF2198.jpg
1.5 hours and $40 later its all back together.
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...r/DSCF2199.jpg
Tomaorrow I'm going to clean and paint the transmission and hopefully start on the cluster swap and wiring.
-
-
Damn, that sucks about the ring. Happens to everyone though.
-
it looks so much better. i almost threw up when i seen first pic.
-
nice man im glad you brought it back lol

Been at it since 10am this morning and the motors in and all connections are done except the vtec wiring. All thats left in the engine compartment is. Vtec wiring harness, axles, turbo, intercooler pipes, valve cover and oil in motor and transmission.

My battery relocation.
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...r/DSCF2211.jpg
The interior is another story. I still have the cluster wiring to do and I also have to tie the engine harness into this mess of a wire tuck I did. I really need to clean this up.

I'm still working on her as I type. Been at it for over 12 hours today. Probably have a few more hours of work before I can try to start her up. I feel myself getting slower and slower as I work but I'm going to push on and try to start her up tonight so I can be driving her tomorrow.
-
:bump:ITS ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!:bump:
She started on the first try and is running good. Its idling low once the temps come up but its running. With no speedo the computer keeps activating the launch control then the CEL come on for the speedo and it drive good. Its running rich on boost but thats normal for a fresh motor that was tuned on the verge of dieing I guess.
Here's the video for the 1st start up.

NICE!!! cant wait to see this thing on the road!
More reps when i can!!
-
thanks.
I put about 5 miles on it today and its running good but idleing like crap. bouncing from 1000 to about 200. But I'll get if fixed and running 100% soon. I can't wait to throw some more boost at it.
-
sweet man good luck i really wanna build and paint mine lol
-
I'm thinking about calling in to work tomorrow and just driving around taking pictures of it all day. I got a full tank of 93 and I want to drive it so bad.
I did find a problem with my car a few min ago. The waste gate line where it conects to the intercooler pipe is cracked. Got to fix it tomorrow.
-
that shit is nice, came a LONGGGGGGGG WAY, good job with it
-
-
This Integra cluster is pissing me off so bad right now. I can't get the damn speedo to work and I have no ideal why. Going to get another VSS tomorrow and see if that fixes it. If it doesn't I'm going to go over all the wires wire by wire and if I still cant get it to work I'm putting the CRX one back in.
Also got the water line fixed so hopefully I'll be able to put some miles on her this weekend. It will be hard to drive with out the speedo because if I go over 1/2 throttle the launch control kicks on. After about 10min of driving the CEL comes on and the car acts normal.
-
its come along way and is coming along very nicely i love it keep it coming
-
Well I found out why the speedo wasn't working. I shorted it out and fried the VSS.
I went threw all the wires and couldn't find the short so I rewired the cluster and reran all the wires to the VSS and still couldn't get it to work.
I did get it to work using a old crx speedo. I wired the new clusters speed input to the output of the crx on and they both spin at the same speed.
My drill doing 66MPH.

My work station.

Also to clear my head I went on a 2 hour bike ride after work. Found out its still cold on the top of a mountain. But still had a blast.
Top of Scenic route.

-
yea you can rack up the miles on a bike fast. 450miles on mine and I've had it for 3 weeks. I don't have a lot of time to ride it but when it gets and stays warm i'll really start putting some miles on it.
-
how much are those bikes? used?
-
-
ok so no ride...... just ignore the offer then.... Oh well ... good luck on the car...holla
