Default Rear Drum to Disc Convernsion (56K) no...

I thought I would share my Rear Drum to Disc conversion on My Galant.

It was a good mod/upgrade. They look good and feel great!

The rear swap was pulled from the Southside Pull a part. They came from a 96 Eagle Talon TSI. The swap cost me about 120 Bucks for all parts...

Rotors and Backing Plate - $64.00
    Brake Fluid - $2.00
    Turning Rotors - $20.00
    Red Caliper Paint - $4.00
Misc Stuff - Tools, food, drink, Gas, blah... - $20.00 to $30.00

    All Glossed Up

    All Glossed Upx2

    Back Plates Check...

These Are turned and ready to go.

The Gold one and maroon one is my boys. The gold one has a JDM VR4 bumper on it. I have the same one but i need to get it painted....

The evo is the like the Galant younger cousin on steroids!

My engine is a 2.4 4G64. The Evo's engine is a 4G63T. They just turned the other way! The 4G64 is in a lot of Mitsubishi's. The 3G Non Turbo eclipse also has the same motor.

I was also thinking of a turbo but, I don;t want to have to deal with it throwing codes all the time.

Yes the motors are that close, and EVO motor can drop right into a Galant or Eclipse. The head swap has not been done on a Galant but it has been done on an Eclipse. The EVO motor swap has been done into a Galant about 5 times I think. Here is a pic of one

Nice job dude! great breakdown of everything...

Is that a GTZ? if not, they are slow as balls. My friend used to have a regular galant and I beat it with my old Civic with a d16y7 motor.. lol

Now, Rican219 on here had a GTZ on the bottle, that **** was a beast.

Good question. Don't quote me on this but, I think the block is the same but, the heads are different. But. with any custom work, you prob. will have to custom fab it.

Where the hell is Rican. I haven't heard from him in a min. Nope, I don't have a GTZ. The GTZ is the V6 version of our car. it does have a few upgrades but. not a lot. That's why i'm thinking of doing the EVO head swap to increase the horses. I already have an in take and an axle back exhaust.

On the Galant and EVO three of the mounts are on the tranny and one is on the motor. The EVO tranny mounts up the galant motor with no problem, and the Galant tranny can mount up to the EVO motor with no problem. Also the blocks are very similar so all the mounts line up. And stock I4 Galants are slow, but the GTZ is not the fastest Galant the lower trim V6 is faster (no lether).
