From what I've heard the electric motor runs out of juice really quick, so I wouldn't bet on it. Even the Prius only avgs 40+ in real world driving.

It never runs out of juice. It recharges under braking.

You are correct, but I've heard for a couple different sources that the E-motor does not last long enough, even with the fact that it recharges under braking.

My statement wasn't based on research of the car itself. 45 just seemed like a nice number. My statement was more based on the fact that, aside from the Tesla roadster, most hybrid/electric cars are the SPED kids of the car design world.

The Tesla, however, is sex on 4 wheels, that out-accelerates a lambo...

in a few weeks I get to go meet the design guys behind this machine... so stupid excited.

GS 450h does 0-60 in 5.2 seconds and the 1/4 mile in the high 13s..not bad for a 4100lbs hybrid
Main drawback is the small trunk b/c of the batteries

Electric motors make a fuck load of torque. They do recharge when braking(regenerative braking) but it can run out. Hybrids help fuel economy out alot in slow city driving, on the highway the internal combustion engine is doing most of the work.

theres no lack of trunk space in a GS hybrid, its actually hard to tell the difference until you pop the hood. its also not really good for gas savings, its more for a better torque curve. I dont think lexus was thinking fuel economy when they made any of the hybrids. go test drive them, they are alot faster then one would think.

And you know the funny thing is, is that when you put different rims on the new Rexus's it fucks up all the safety features on it..

Hell yeah, I got to drive one at the "Taste of Lexus" event in Irvine. They're no joke, but yeah, like you said the trunk space is nonexistant. A 350z has more space...

Lol, well then there's a serious lack of trunk space in all the GS's then. The one GS450h I looked at had a laughably small trunk for a car its size.

They actually are made for gas saving but more for city then highway. So if you do alot of highway driving then yea you aint saving much on gas.
