if this 924 has been babied and taken care of all these years...ONE OWNER and you KNOW the guy....how often do you find a deal like that?!! To top that off....its what you have wanted all these years.....I think you know what to do....so what if it cost a lot to maintain..its the car you have wanted forever....worth the hassels and you still have the CVCC to scoot arount in.

Hell yeah, a nice reliable newer D series Honda motor would be bad as shit in the CVCC, considering it has what, 45hp now? A more reliable, more powerful motor in a little tiny car like that would be the shit. If it was my choice I'd do the swap in the CVCC asap, considering how clean it is I'd never let that car go. after everything was good and running I'd get the Porsche.Originally Posted by quickdodgeŽ

Go 924! Up-keep isn't bad at all as long as you do all the work. Having it front engined makes the work easier to do.
The typical "Aw man get a real Porsche" comment comes up again! It's got to be the dumbest mindset of the public and car enthusiasts. You guys are as bad as the Porsche purists claiming any Porsche made after 1998 aren't "real" Porsches. If you're one of the ones making the "get a real Porsche" comment and don't know what I'm talking about, then you should consider researching about what you're posting first.
You'll actually find a lot of Porsche enthusiasts own both a 911 and some variant of a 944.![]()
924s are awesome cars, not Too bad to work on either. I like them, especially if you decide to make a Carrera GT replica, with the riveted rear flares and all. I think they look sexy.

Sell me the hatch - then get the Porsche. Duh!

Not on a '83 model, 1981+ was the 924 Turbo Series II with higher compression (8:1) and smaller turbo. The result was less overheating issues and the horsepower went from 170 to 177, the 1981 911SC had 180Originally Posted by Marta Mike

As for the 924/944, i'd seriously put a LS2 in one and call it a day. The stock 4 cylinder Audi engine will probably be nothing but problems and parts and labor will be a complete nightmare. I had an old roommate that worked for a Porsche salvage yard and they were a new parts supplier as well, he had a 951 and even him working everyday with literally HUNDREDS of salvaged Porsches it was still a pain in the ass for him to obtain the parts plus the cost was crazy expensive.
I've seen the 944 w/ LS1 swaps run at Homestead and the old roommate has ridden in a few with the conversion done by a company in Miami...says it's STUPID fast. The LS# is actually lighter than a 951 engine![]()
That's blasphemy as far as I'm concerned. I have always been anti-engine swap-between-makes. Especially the Porsches. I would never consider putting any other engine in a Porsche except a Porsche(or factory). And I also love the Carerra GTs. Later, QD.Originally Posted by speedminded

Considering the history and condition it would be nice to keep 100% stock and refurbish as you can though.
I'm with QD on the LS2.
Power is easy to get out of a 951 and they're very easy to work on. Plus there are an ass load of parts available for them. The problem is the cost lol.
Grab the Porsche while you can. When will you have another chance like this? You already have the CVCC, so it can wait on the back-burner. You have the Volvo as a daily driver.....lol. What's the down side?
That he hasn't sold the hatch to Baby J.Originally Posted by Echonova

I say go with the 931. I love the 928/944/968 cars, very interesting slice of Porsche's (and VW/Audi) history. I personally like the 951 (944 Turbo S) the best out of these cars but if it is that specific model that has your eye and you are in the position to comfortably own it, I say more power to you.
I think you should get a 997 turbo i drove one last week, you would love it. I think.?
stick with what you got in the sig
