I have a b18a or b18b valve cover with the lumps on it.
if anyone has any ideas or pictures of nice lumpy valve covers, it'd help out a lot.
Because i have no idea what i want to do with it.
Shave it. Or let Bucky tackle it. You should get some soldiers painted on it or something. Or get the dc shoe on there like Washington. Be creative.

dont you know copper is the new chrome? of course that shit costs
make the lumps copper finish and do the rest flat black.
How can you call him a dick when everyone know's his car and then you, a nobody, tells him what you don't like it about. He could give 2 shits what you don't like about his car. By the looks of your car, he could probably go on and on about what he doesn't like about your car, but then he'd be the dick rightOriginally Posted by EBP_EM1

there were other things said and i wont go into more details.
forget about that guy being a dick.
his guages are ugly though.
i just bought some textured black paint at autozone and just got done stripping the entire cover. I might polish the lumps and texture the indentions. I dont know I'll take pics of the progress to show you what is happening.

Just strip it and clean it really good -- nothing wrong with raw aluminum...it will look just like the head and blockOriginally Posted by EBP_EM1

Here's my results:
i started off with this ugly thing.
I thought it'd look good enough with just the black paint and taped off lettering... I was wrong.
So i went to the store and bought some stripper and metallic black paint to make it really nice.
I only taped off the Honda badge and I'm pretty happy with the results. Here's the finished product all dried.
Let me know what you all think.
look simple but good........... you need to find some exotic paint and do something a little different ya know?

I'd suggest next time using aircraft remover on it to get rid it of the excess old paint and down to bare metal. Gotta be careful doing thick coats of paint too because it holds heat in, i've used 1600° ceramic paint before and it still bubbled up at the inner corner after about 6 months.
Powdercoating is by far the most reliable with the best results for the life of the valvecover.![]()
interesting, was a filler used in the bottom right corner on the cam gear "cover"?Originally Posted by EBP_EM1

ohhhh, gotcha...thought it was just an extra thick coat of paint over itOriginally Posted by EBP_EM1

I still need to paint mine, but I like the metallic job you did, so I hope you don't mind if I steal the idea, heh. Repped for the inspiration.
good job, i think it tuned out nicely
You only live once, maybe twice if you use the e-brake!

are you back in GA yet?
i was flipping through a super street magazine at the store earlier today and that copper'ed out eg was in it. i figured i would throw that out there. the valve cover turned out nice though!
