Damn I miss turning wrenches. I can't wait till I have the place and money to work on my car.
ok well...i RE-ordered a head gasket...HG will be here friday , its only like 1 hours more worth of work and 1 hour dropping her in...
all i have to do now is...
install headgasket
install head
install cams w/timing chain
install valve cover
then BAAM! longblock done..
THENNNNN
intake manifold
turbo manifold w/turbo...
1 hour tops.
everything is new except purple power:) and one of the gear oil bottleQuote:

If it was a ka-t it wouldn't have broke.
hahahahha
well its all in the car...all wired up...transmission is on , driveshaft is on...intercooler piping , all the spark plugs and coil packs...all the fluids are in , oil, gear oil , coolant...
but nothing is getting power! not even interior....had my bro jump start it but i have a optima red top anyways...the radio wont even work....and i could play cd's when the engine was out of the car!
did you hook up the battery?
lol yeah man...i even exchanged it with my dads van battery...
the clock is just blank......i pulled a couple fuses but not ALL...stupid things wont come out...ill try taking them all out in a bit...but still wouldnt explain the problem of the headlights
You check the fuseable links? Maybe something is grounding out and blowing them.
interior fuse box or the one in the engine bay? oh and i can hear the fuel pump priming...and when i use the keys to deactivate the alarm , i get power everywhere...as in cluster lights up , alarm chimes...
Engine bay, it sounds like a similar problem a friend of mine was having, his power steering lines were grounding out and blowing fuses.
dont have power steering or a/c...cut those wires off...ill check my grounds in a bit...i took a bunch of pictures of all the grounds before i took out the engine but my bro deleted them all cause it was making the camera "slow"
eh all the fuses are good...........i think its an interior thing
man wht happned to the mount?? ass hole and u better rep me
Bump
^^ thanks
still no power...
i really hope all it is , is a dead battery
i hope so;)
ok well its not the battery...
ok well the 75a FL was blown in the engine bay compartment...i linked it together temporarily and bam...i get interior lights and everything..radio, clock...but still no power to the starter.
used a DVOM to check for power on the starter...not getting power to the wire that controls the solenoid...dont know what to do next..
ok i think ive narrowed it down to these 2 wires that come from the main WIRING harness that bolt into the intake manifold and connect with 2 other wires...and those 2 other wires are conjunctioned into a black box that leads into the starter plug...
thic picture can explain it

Goodluck getting that fixed. Electrical problems are a bitch. Goodjob on the build to you too, can't wait to see this thing move.
yellow goes on left and blue goes on right. take it out and put it back it in that order
Update?
UPDATE*** AFTER ABOUT 2 DAYS...I FIGURED OUT THE PROBLEMS , STARING AT THE FSM FOR HOURS ON END..NOT EATING ANYTHING lmao...but i got it...
so in my wiring harness...theres was this white wire which goes into some relay , which then turns into 4 other wires...weird huh...i just eliminated the relay completely and took that white wire , spliced in a connector for the starter tab and bam....power everytime....starts up perfectly
but she doesnt pur like she used to....theres this horrible ticking coming from the head, i have a bad oil leak...
im going to go make a trip for some oil , coolant and spark plugs....im having the same misfire i used to before i built the engine...so im guessing plugs are bad...going to get some BKR7 colder step
the car sounds alot louder and meaner now...but i dont like it.....probably because i used the same turbo>elbow gasket...
im just so relieved it started it up on the first try...but the ticking from the head...:???:...going to pop the valve cover soon...cant really start her up too much because a) no coolant , just water b) no oil , it all leaked out
drove her around for a bit...boost comes out of nowhere now...i think its just a slipping clutch or grease on the flywheel still...havent really floored it...should there be a break-in period even though i used OE everything?
everything that is NEW requires "break-in"Quote:

nope, have something knocking again...
damn sammy... whats wrong??? That sux. call me if you need any help
oil pump is dead...
ah damn what a way to piss you off lolol i guess you gotta rebuild again
i dunno why you didn't see why you spun a bearing to begin with, that was the reason you spun it the first time around most likely
damn that sucks you gotta do it all over... just get some forged pistons and some eagle rods lol
but yeah your name is Sammy? Oh really did you ever have a starion, also is your license plate SR20DET, if so I think i know you.
nah...i met you at malibu when i was with Atif after you gave him a test drive.
but yeah im not entirely 100% sure its bearing again...might be bent valve from before....because it was ticking right when i started up the engine for the first time...even with a dead oil pump it wont overheat so fast that the bearings will fail within 5 seconds...
debating whether to sell the car as is and start a new "life" again lmao...
im not too mad about it , if it turns out its dead oil pump and bearing failure im going all out build this time....
