The story goes like this. I owned a 2006 mazda3 with the 2.3L . I put a fujita intake on it and managed to get caught up in an accident on the highway. So i bought the Speed3. Now given the car's "prowess" companies are putting a premium on the parts. Last I checked the Mazdaspeed inatke is ~$315 and the CP-E is ~$330. I dont feel like payin that. So i tried a MAFS housing and a cone filter. Pulled really hard in 1st and 2nd but hiccupped really bad in all the others. Mazda MAFS are really f'ing picky sooo......

Fabrication time!
Finished!
There were no real fitment issues i just rapped one of the housing clamps because it rests close to the upper radiator hose. The butt dyno says 0 gain so far but the ecu needs to adjust, also there is a light stall in first. I checked the diameters of the MAFS housing and they are the same size. I get all the cool turbo noises now too lol. Only thing left is to get a K & N and allow the ecu some time to adjust!
Best part is I can return it to stock for warranty work in about 15 min.
